I got it!

Hear this out, my crush is smart. So if I just "act" dumb around my crush, then she'll surely feel bad for me, wanting to spend time with me.

It's the perfect plan!

There will be no 'good signs' in the near future.  If the ACC had any realistic/reasonable plans, and conference-wide agreement, for a football season, they wouldn't have cancelled this virtual press confab.  I'll consider this news to be the death knell of the 2020 CFB season.  There will be more nails hammered in over the next couple of weeks before it's all over, but this steam puff has the 'cancel train' inexorably moving forward.

I haz a sad...

Everyone knows it is coming.  These slow bleeds are good for who I do not know.  Shut it down and focus time and energy on preparing for 2021 - with the assumption a vaccine is in-place.

When you cancel something held virtually, that's not a good sign. Either that, or they would prefer not to have Dabo yammering on about any number of topics with the season in flux.

If you’re cancelling a virtual session, that’s all you need to know. This season isn’t happening.

I just wish the NCAA would rip the band aid off and cancel it now, vs. making us all slowly suffer over the next few weeks. If you’re doing to die, would you rather get a bullet to the head, or get five to the chest and bleed to death?

This reminds me of the slow drip of schools and conferences dropping out of the NCAA football series. This obviously isn’t going to last for 6+ years like the game. But this season likely won’t happen.

Question is, do we want spring football or just split the difference and go June/July 21 and September 22?

I won’t create a new thread as last time I caused great anxiety and sadness on the board per my AD friend’s texts, and the next day there was hope per B1G announcements. Also I really have no new info or sentiment per my friend.

I spoke to my AD friend on the phone yesterday and he’s basically accepted that fall sports are not happening.  I didn’t really push for any details, as he was more calling as a friend worried/convinced he’d be unemployed pretty soon. I really feel for him...he loves the university, graduated from there, interned there, and this was his dream job.

He just said it looks no better now than last week despite what we hear from the conference or media, and most his colleagues are resigned to the fact that fall sports just look impossible at this point, and he expects the cancellation statement this week.

I wanted to ask a bunch of questions like maybe just football?,spring football?, what if virus dissipates by October?, what if vaccine?, what about more local scrimmage games?, etc, but it felt selfish to ask about football given his state of mind-Just hoping he can keep his job.

I’m still praying for a safe season but I’ve kind of accepted the worst as to not be disappointed when the decision is made.  I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than hang on to false hopes.
