3 Wolverines Playing for Columbus Tonight
With Werenksi, Blankenburg and Johnson all playing for the Blue Jackets tonight, how many OSU fans that won't even say "Michigan" are now rooting for the enemy?
I usually root for Wolverines in the NHL (and NFL/NBA), but it's more difficult to do so when they are in Columbus, I must say.
What say you?
P.S. Congrats to Blankenburg on his first NHL point.

Proud owner of a Werenski jersey and love having more Blue on the CBJ!
Does your handle indicate Pickerington? My SIL teaches at Central...nephews go there too.

If it wasn’t for UM Hockey 🏒 🥅 the Blue Jackets wouldn’t have a team? Go Blue!

Blankenberg picked up an assist in his first NHL game.

In my defense, I proctored the SAT today, which is literally the most boring, soul draining experience this side of watching Notre Dame hockey. But twice as long.

Modern day torture.
It’s a little known fact that South Bend is the only rendition site in the U.S.

I think it's awesome that people in Columbus have to cheer for Wolverines!

well I gotta say, as much as ohowihateohiostate, i kinda put that aside on the pro level. For example, Chris Speilman - love that guy as a Lion and as a human.

Werenski was kind of the unsung hero on the '16 team. I mean, we knew he was great, but the focus was mostly on the (legit awesome) CCM line.
But Werenski really keyed a lot of the offense for that team and that line. Having that defenseman that could move the puck, attack down the wing, create offense... he was outstanding. Dominant, even. As much a key as the three forwards.

I'll be honest, maybe it's because I was a hockey fan before I was a college sports fan, but I really don't care too much where NHL players played their amateur hockey before coming to the pros.
It didn't really matter to me that Rafalski was a Badger when he was on the Wings, he was just a hell of an offensive D-man for the Wings. Similarly, I didn't care Turco was a former Michigan player, he was just a guy on the Stars you want the Wings to score on at will.
Blankenburg with the 3rd star. From Romeo High to walk-on to the NHL. Love it.
