These Months in MGoBlog History: June 2009
Previously:
June 1 - Monday
Unverified Voracity Says Hello, Old Friend. It seemed that the time of the Gradys had come to an end; Kevin was likely dismissed from the football team, and Kelvin said he was transferring from the basketball team. However, now it looks like Kelvin might be joining the football team.
Hello: Christian Pace. Poor, Christian Pace. He will forever (probably) be remembered as the lone OL commit in the 2010 class, something that would hurt the team for awhile.
The Grady news is mostly confirmed.
June 2 - Tuesday
The upcoming basketball schedule gets worse with Kansas added.
June 3 - Wednesday
Wednesday Recruitin’. Good news out of the BBQ with FL CB Tony Grimes, IL WR Kyle Prater, and MI DT Jonathan Hankins all showing up.
Unverified Voracity Constructs Analogies. Incoming star recruit OH CB Justin Turner might not walk at graduation. Everyone is concerned, but Sam Webb says it is a minor thing.
June 4 - Thursday
2009 Recruiting: Vincent Smith. YMRMFSPA - Darren Sproles.
OL Dann O’Neill has left the team.
This takes Michigan to approximately 21 scholarships in the 2010 class, but Michigan is probably going to have to fill O'Neill's spot with another offensive lineman; expect four to sign up, with OH guard/center Christian Pace already in the fold.
June 5 - Friday

June 18 - Thursday
Unverified Voracity is Taking the Over. Points are now required to start threads. Also, it turns out that Holmes Onwukaife wasn’t able to commit after all. He ended up at FSU.
2009 Recruiting: Denard Robinson. YMRMFSPA - Pat White.
June 19 - Friday
The opening game on the 2010 schedule has yet to be filled. There are only a number of teams that also have open dates at this time. Boise St. seems like a good option.
Mailbag. Is it a problem that recruits are committing without ever visiting? And then a look back at two recent MGoBlog discussions: just how good was the running game at the end of the year, and Calipari oversigning and cutting players.

June 20 - Saturday
June 22 - Monday
Unverified Voracity: Where Open Field Happens. Fitz Toussaint had an impressive showing in the annual OH vs. PA high school game.

Recap of the NHL draft. The most worrisome thing is that Mac Bennett was taken in the 3rd round by Montreal.
June 29 - Monday
2010 Defensive Recruiting Overview.
You've probably figured out where this is going during the disclaimer, but here goes anyway: I'm not thrilled over here. It looks like the secondary recruiting will be about on par with a typical Michigan class, with two high profile stars, a couple middling four-stars behind them, and then a couple three-star-sorts with promise on the back end. Linebacker and defensive line are another matter, with three eh (Paskorz, Kinard) to eh-plus (Wilkins) recruits in the bag and what looks like zero four-stars Michigan has a strong shot except maybe Sharrif Floyd, and that's tentative. (I am excluding Corey Nelson and Corey Lemonier here.)
There is a lot of time left and all that, but the this gaussian distribution is centered on Moderately Disappointing. Thrilling is three standard deviations away.
File this guy under Vogrich/Douglass/Novak, not Manny.
June 30 - Tuesday
Game column of the USA’s loss to Brazil in soccer.
More fun memories.
Man, it sucks that this is actually going to get fun in September before falling a part completely in October.
And we’re then going to repeat that cycle of optimism leading to disappointment every year until present, with the exceptions being 2011 (won Sugar, beat OSU), 2012 & 2014 (both disappointing from the start).
If you notice the copy editing has improved this is the month I came on staff officially.
