You know it's a good day when you have to put (starters) next to "Offensive Domination". I very well could have delved into the second half of this game to look at excellent plays from Wilson, Christian Turner, Ronnie Bell, etc., but that would have bumped this episode from 8 plays to about 14, and ain't nobody got time for that.

SO, I look at the big plays from the offensive in the first half that got Michigan out to their hilariously awesome 39-0 lead at halftime against the Cornhuskers.

Note: I'm on the road doing these this week, so resolution isn't as great and some of the video is choppy. I believe I fixed the choppiness for episodes 4.2 and beyond, but sorry for the choppiness in some of these.

Play Notes:

4.1.1 - Q1 12:46 - 2nd & 3 - UM43 - Higdon runs for 46 yards

• Down-G blocking scheme with a twist from the FB. Great play design and excellent execution all-around, especially Bredeson & Ruiz. Bonus points for DPJ for blocking downfield.

4.1.2 - Q1 9:08 - 1st & 10 - NEB44 - Higdon TD Run

• Same exact down-G scheme. NEB’s LBs really don’t do a good job, but excellent blocks from Onwenu, Bredeson, & DPJ help spring this for a big gain.

4.1.3 - Q1 5:37 - 3rd & 11 - UM47 - Gentry catch for 21 yards

• Nebraska brings a LB and safety blitz late. Good protection overall and a great play-call for the blitz. Patterson finds Gentry on crossing route for a big gain.

4.1.4 - Q1 3:51 - 3rd & 8 - NEB30 - Wilson run for 26 yards

• Zone blocking for Michigan attacking the weak-side. Great blocks from Onwenu, Ruiz, Runyan, and everyone does their job. Excellent job by Wilson to set up the linebacker to allow Onwenu to get to the second level.

4.1.5 - Q1 3:14 - 1st & G - NEB4 - Mason TD run

• Down-G again, but with Mason. Ruiz gets pushed into the backfield a bit, but excellent blocks from Onwenu, Gentry, and McKeon open a huge hole for Mason. Made it look easy.

4.1.6 - Q2 12:48 - 1st & 10 - UM41 - Collins 23 yard catch

• Michigan does well in pass-protection here. Collins gets excellent separation on his quick corner route, and Patterson delivers a perfectly timed ball. Great catch from Collins on the sideline.

4.1.7 - Q2 8:27 - 2nd & G - NEB5 - Gentry catch for TD

• Nebraska sends a bunch of pressure on play-action, Michigan handles it pretty well, especially Onwenu. Higdon needs to stay engaged on his block, but buys Patterson enough time to get the pass off.

4.1.8 - Q2 6:44 - 1st & 10 - NEB34 - Higdon run for 25 yards

• Another Down-G play. Higdon breaks a TON of tackles and play is extremely well-blocked. Bredeson, Ruiz, and McKeon do especially well on their assignments.
