Michigan has remained active in the transfer market, landing Wake Forest transfer Chaundee Brown:

Brown, like Nojel Eastern, has played three years and has one year of eligibility left. He'll try to get a waiver to play next year, and since Wake Forest fired Danny Manning he'll probably have a shot even if there's not a COVID-19 blanket waiver. Brown's other finalists were Gonzaga and Illinois, so he had some tourney-level teams after him.

Michigan's player to be named later in the Spike Albrecht deal is Purdue transfer Nojel Eastern:

Eastern is not in the portal as a grad transfer and so would have to sit out this year before playing a final season in 2021-22 unless he gets a waiver. These days waivers are pretty common and COVID-19 might make them universal, that'll be something to keep an eye on. Matt Painter's recent statements about his departures make it clear that he wasn't encouraged to leave.

Michigan has an open scholarship spot and a clear need at shooting guard, so this was news of some import yesterday:

Kier did not have Michigan or Iowa State in his top ten, so the situation is pretty fluid. Michigan is the only one of those teams that would have made the tournament last year and has by far the best recent track record, so if they've got the minutes they should have a good shot. FWIW, he's got some Michigan-themed I Am In School X's Uniform fan art on his Instagram page, though that may be due to the rabidity of the fanbase.
