In all seriousness, yeah Martin got a cheap shot in. But who knows what was said, rivalry game etc. And beside's that, it's part of what makes hockey hockey. 

Ken and Paul are great. Ken and Mickey on TV are even better.

On the defense... eesh. There are times where it just looks like a tire fire in terms of giving up zone entries. If I had access to the data I would love to see Ohio State's percentage of carries into the zone vs dump ins, because it seems like the blue line was surrendered very easily this game. (I was in the end zone yesterday so harder to tell). 

Backchecking forwards are essentially absent on this team and that's where Copp would have been great to retain, even if he wasn't that dynamic offensively. Compher might be ok, Motte has some speed to be a pest.... other than that it doesn't seem like they have guys that can lock down on defense. The middling-to-bad penalty kill stats are also symptoms of this issue. Racine isn't a bad goalie by any means and it's been great having him back since Nagelvoort struggled, but he's not getting the help he deserves.

I will say though...overall this team is a blast to watch. I don't know how many mini-van chants we've been able to do this year off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure we're past 5 now at home. It's hard to ever feel out of a game.

THE mLive article said both Lena and Habana would reopen somewhere else... I believe it's the same restaurant management group for both.

The series at the end of the month against PSU should be big, as they look to be the only other consistent team in the Big Ten (well, consistently average at least... Minnesota might be getting hot). 

Weekend vs Ohio St could be interesting as they did well in their holiday tournament.

Was a fun sight, they sounded pretty good too. We got to the game too late to be in the regular student section (good on you, CoY who showed up early unlike my idiot drunk friends) and sat behind the band next to Michigan's bench, they had most of the section saved for them. From there they sounded great, the drum major got a great cheer.

Congrats! I remember the thrill of my admission earlier this year. What a great tradition at Michigan your family has too!

That's sad. I am used to getting there about an hour-45 minutes ahead now for a spot anywhere on the side. The endzone is usually full by about 15 minutes to gametime. 

The Dartmouth game post Ohio St was an exception, to be fair, as the end zone was pretty much totally empty. Don't think it helped that they had the alumni band.

I will say, as someone who is finally sitting in the student section after watching games elsewhere in the rink for a couple of years, that I think the placement of the section in just the corner rather than the whole sideline tends to keep the noise down. CoY is much more coordinated than either football or basketball but it could still be better. I don't like sitting in the endzone because not nearly as many fans know the chants. My guess is those seats are so valuable as tickets on the open market that they won't ever return to that configuration.

I know Corsi, Fenwick are generally better measurements of contribution to use, but Larkin also leads the NHL right now at +20. Without him playing as well as he has, the Wings would be hovering around last place.
