I mean, I hated his departure for OSU as much as the next guy, and not to be pedantic or anything, but I’m pretty sure Benedict Arnold is the ultimate Benedict Arnold…
s1105615, I cannot recommend this fan-run site (operated diligently and appearing in its original Paleolithic-internet-era form for over a decade) enough, for the purpose of planning your day’s viewing. Of note, the times listed are Central.
Thanks again everyone, for the thoughts, ideas, donations, and support. They’ve nearly doubled their initial fund raising goal (in just over 24hrs) and have made a ton of headway with tearing everything out. The flood water has officially receded, and reconstruction is on the horizon.
While I’m not shocked at all re: the density of good character here, it’s still humbling.
Not-USAA to my understanding, which does... explain some things. Apparently the septic tank released into the drainage water which then inundated their basement/bottom floor. Unsure how far they’ve gotten down the line of identifying/differentiating fault/cause, just that they’ve reached an impasse, with a house soaked in waste.
I’m actually stationed in NY State, hate that I can’t be there to help in person. Extremely(!) grateful to you guys for the help so far.
Side Note/Update: Sam Sunderland (the organizer of the GoFundMe on behalf of the Johnsons) is a Captain there with the 110th. Just didn’t want that to create any confusion re: to whom the donations were being made.
Goddamit. I'd successfully spent the full weekend avoiding anything to do with Endgame. Coming off of my last midnight shift, with tickets in hand to see it at 2pm today... and then here you are, in the GoT thread.
In Buffalo this weekend for a concert, went to a sports pub to watch the game. Managed to wander into the one, place, with a dozen or so Spartan fans, one of whom was well into “I’ve had the number of beers required to result in Carl Lorthner voice-level control” range. He proceeded to chant ”Rocky IV, Rocky IV” any time Iggy was on screen “Waffle Guy, Waffle Guy” for the ENTIRE split-screen timeframe, and was just all around terrible, and loud, the whole, time. Locals, with no interest in the game one way or the other, started mockingly chanting “airball” under their breath whenever MSU missed a shot (unfortunately not a common enough event in the second half).
Odd question, hoping someone can point me in the right direction:
I have two season tickets, section 36, but would like to bring my dad, who’s had two knee and two shoulder replacements in the past couple years, to a game (Oct 6th vs Maryland specifically). Considering his comfort level, and the effect that the size of the standard bench seats will likely have on it, is there a mechanism by which I could request a one-game swap to the handicap accessible seats between sections?
Shout out to life-long Michigan doubter and consummate failed-prognosticator, Charles Barkley, as well as depression-era Michigan diehard Craig Ross for the lack of faith. We needed it. You provided it. Go Blue!
Selling my seats for the MSU and OSU games this year (stuck working one weekend and the other is the same day as a promotion party I'm hosting). Long time reader here, since '07, before finally creating an account years later, so please don't let my lack of MGoPoints dissuade you from reaching out for fear of some kind of chicanery.
Season ticket holder, two seats, Section 36, Row 78, corner closest to the band and student section, good view, friendly seat-neighbors, pretty easy access/right near the section entrance. Hoping to skip the open-secondary market to avoid adding any unwanted green, white, scarlet, or grey to this area of the stadium that is so regularly, wonderfully free of opposing fandom...
MSU: hoping for $150/ea. OSU: hoping for $275/ea. Email me if interested.

During that PBU by Watson, Blackledge said something to the effect of "and Brandon Watson swats that pass away easily" and my wife piped in with "Uh, I think you mean Brandon Swat-son" at which point I was reminded once more that I married the right one.
This is Rory McCann, who also plays Sandor "The Hound" Clegane on Game of Thrones. Having recently found this out, I am no longer capable of watching his scenes without hearing him say "Yarp" in my head (not sure why I felt compelled to share this knowledge/burden with you all, so uh... you're welcome and I'm sorry)
"I think Pringles' initial intention was to make tennis balls. But on the day that the rubber was supposed to show up, a big truck load of potatoes arrived. And Pringles is a laid back company, they said, "Fuck it, cut 'em up."

Are we not counting his 7 years as Special Teams Coordinator? Or is this a winking effort to hopefully prevent his departure from U-M's sidelines.

Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man.
+1 Tacopants sighting (and an excellent write up otherwise as well/as usual).
Nice, thanks for the in-thread response and posting the link below for folks.

I say we take off and nuke this entire UFR from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
Lol, same
A retrospective on Michigan's 1918 championship season, with 675,000 deaths from Influenza as a backdrop? I'm in.
Realistically, Craig's probably already written this piece; Seth is editing it as we speak.

What you did there... I see it, lol
Looking into that now, thanks :)
