Funny thing reading these…

Funny thing reading these posts: the Michigan grad is female though everyone who uses a pronoun assumes otherwise

She he lives down the street from me.

Plus They lose Freedom and Justice.
I put the over-under at 7.5 wins I mean, y'all saw this team in 2014, right? Assumed losses to Ohio, state, Utah, and 2 or three more among penn state, Minnesota, byu, northwestern and Indiana.
So, yea, 10-3. Pretty amazing.
Not good Let's face it. Being this late was unprofessional and doesn't improve the chances of getting more invites to a national show that recruits and parents listen.
Must read the SI article on Jimmy tweets

"[Harbaugh tweet": I sense opportunity in the air today. I saw the Greek god Kairos racing swiftly across the Stanford field in my dream last night. Be ready!

Rivals.com told me the commitment came a night earlier from 6-4, 220-pound Flushing, N.Y., receiver Devon Cajuste, who pledged to play for the Cardinal after a standout performance at Stanford's camp. This handy list of Greek deities told me that Kairos was the god of opportunity, or, more specifically, of the opportune moment. It also told me the god's name can be spelled Caerus. That version looks a little more like the mystery recruit's name. But Harbaugh hadn't dreamt it; Cajuste had made the most of his opportunity at the camp."

That's one impresssive Michigan Man!

All Degrees from UofM, so, only

East Grand Rapids. Go East!

We had kegs! Heck, the party just continued at the stadium in the 1980s. Groups/formats had kegs waiting in their section. Now AD Bo put an end to that in 1987 or 1988. But for a year or two, you could still bring in cans of beer. There was a truck outside the stadium which just sold 12-packs of bud or bud light that you brought in with you before they start of the he game or at half time. After that was banned, you could still put some liquor in a boda bag and "hide" it under your shirt or jacket with no cops or staff even giving you a second look.
Feel about it how you like, but the. Militant dryness at the games has had an effect on student attendance.
Exactly, Were many if you ever UofM students? News flash: it's a great school and no joke to get good grades or even avoid probation. Students are making decisions like, "should I go see Akron or Indiana, or should I do that lab in chemistry and write that paper for history? I mean, I'm a student here for an education and diploma, not just a spectator to cheer on my college teams." This doesn't need to be over thought.
Exactly Thank you!
Plus Never forget 1973.
Finally, we have a winner Overall record is a part of a three way tiebreaker. And in the emotional ride of the season, a loss can grow doubts, giving us another advantage over MAC.
The goal is to win the B1G!
Flashback When Devin kept scrambling backwards to avoid taking a sack, I had flashbacks to Harbaugh's sack freshman year in '86, where he must have lost 40 yards. Of course, st least he didn't then throw it up for grabs and get a pick six.
Top tier academic schools I'd be for replacing nd with about three high academic and quality football program schools that with whom we play home-and-away series every 6 years.
For example (in some order of preference):
1. Cal. The other great public school. PAC-B1G tradition in what is, unfortunately, a post Rose Bowl era. California recruiting.
2. Stanford. See points 2 and 3 above.
3. Virginia. Great school. Pre-welcome them B1G.
4. North Carolina. See above.
5. Georgia. Really the only top tier public school in the SEC. Southern recruiting.
Other possibilities: UCLA, Florida, USC.
Penn State We're going to see them every year, and the game will be vital to winning the East.
In EGR I'm in East GR. we got our seasons on Friday!
Freddy Canteen

Freddy Canteen and his family are in our hotel on Plymouth (we're here for a kid swim meet).  My wife actually talked with them, they're extremely excited about their son going to Michigan. They really couldn't be happier and are now just looking for where their daughter will go to school. They're glad the process is over.

I know, I know, "cool story bra, tell it again."

Anyway, feel good about Canteen staying firm with commitment.

Go East!

Go East!

Great game

Packed house except for maybe 200 in the nose-bleeds. Glendenning had a strong game, including a key goal. We played a bit sloppy in our zone and their first goal should have been waived off, but the bounces went our way. I think we took their strongest punch and should be in good shape on Friday.

A Quality Academic School

with a solid football program that we can beat regularly and recruit in their territory that would also be interesting to visit.

Cal (the two best public schools)
Virginia (a team that could join the B1G)
North Carolina (another team that could join the B1G)

then Stanford or Georgia.

Absolutely

The current system gives other teams periodic scheduling advantages over us since we have the protected crossover with ohio.

But, the solution to this is not to give them permanent scheduling advantages over us by putting them in a far easier division (Wisconsin is likely to return to the mean as we get further and further away from the Alvarez era and Nebraska is steadily losing lots of its recruitment pool by not playing Texas teams).

Can't imagine not playing ohio every year

I'd just have changed DB's three goals by nixing #3. Play ohio at the end of the season.

It'd still be a huge game if it was in the first Saturday in November. And for that we'd get competitive balance and a much higher liklihood of getting to Indy -- which is sorta the point now.

2006.

We would have deserved to go to the Playoffs, but would we have gotten in without even making it to Indy.

Cutting Off Our Nose

Yes, and now we've ended this little unfairness by putting ourselves in the division with 2 of the other 3-4 likely elite programs over the next 20 years.

Facts are, under a better East/West division with us in the West (with State and Purdue in West and something like Illinois and NU in the East; and protected cross-over games), we'd be favorites most every year to get to Indy.  Under that scenario, we just have to take care of business against every team except ohio, and we'd go to Indy. I'll take a neutral court game v ohio. Yes, that might mean we'd have to move ohio from the end of the season. I'd make that sacrifice in order to drastically improve our chances of making the Championship game and getting what probably will amount to an auto bid to the Football Final Four.

Now, under the new system, any loss to ohio means we are not going to Indy.

I know this goes against MGoOrthodoxy.

In about three years

we're going to regret this and push for change. They are simply too lopsided and we've put ourselves in a position where we must defeat ohio every year if we want to make it to the B1G Championship Game and have a shot at the Playoffs.

I just want the

This alumnus just wants to Beat Ohio and go to the Rose Bowl. I don't care about any MNC (that's mostly for kids who didn't go to a school with a storied football program, like say, Central Michigan).

ding ding

It's early in the Big Ten season, there are plenty of opportunities to hope for Sparty and New Corney defeats. But the pure joy of watching the nuts' collective head exploding is just too much fun -- throw in some NCAA sanctions and a poor coaching hire, and we could be looking at at least a half decade of dominance on the field and in recruiting. This will lead to our long-term, sustained success.

Yep, we may very well lose 2 Big Ten games this year (see first half of most games against serious opponents this year), and while we also have a chance to win this thing on the field, we may need some help. So, cheer for Wisky against Sparty and expect a classic Sparty collapse at Iowa or Northwestern. If we beat Nebraska, then they have two loses and we've got the tiebraker. So, we can trip up against an Iowa or Illinois.

Other possibilities?

Do you have the numbers for Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina?

Still Nope

Once you let Willy inside the gate, you won't be able to keep him out of the stands and after that you won't be able to keep him off  the field.

and that will hurt the state of Michigan

since even more UofM grads will not be using their talents in this state. Great idea Gov Snyder!

What this means

You'll have to pay a tuition rate close to where out of state tuition is now when your kid(s) go.

No thanks.

It worked

just sayin.

If Miles isn't on the plane as reported

then he could have easily told DB, "Thanks, I'm staying at LSU. Good luck. Go Blue! Bye."

But, if that's the case, wouldn't DB head back to Dallas?

Throwing out poaching B1G Coaches

Bret Bielema?

CC: FYI

From GR Press arrticle on Desmond Morgan comittment:

Morgan said he wasn’t bothered by the swirling rumors regarding Rodriguez’s future.

“I’ve talked with coach Rodriguez and the rest of the coaches and they’re pretty confident he’s going to be there after the season,” Morgan said. “I’m pretty confident as well. No matter what happens, Michigan’s a great football program.”

$3000

I was never a basketball fan, but when I was at UofM in 1989, I was convinced to fill out a bracket. Heck, I had no idea, put Michigan in as National Champion and added Illinois and pretty much went scratch. Won $3000 from the frat brothers that year!

Never let anything get in the way of you being all in for Michigan.

Little Brother

There is a bright side: 2 or the 3 Sparty names are for trophies for best kicker and punter.

A2-BG Axis

Mr. Spots was started in Bowling Green (ohio) by some BGSU lax players from Phily.  They graduated and opened a second place in A2 back around when I was in school in the late 1980s (it was there by 1987, but I get the feeling, it'd been there only a few years). I lived at the corner of Hill and State (go sig eps!) and ate there all the time -- wings or stake hoagies (sp?).  Now, when ever I get back to the motherland, I take the wife/kids/friends there. It's a favorite of Michigan hockey and football players. Bo loved it to. Nuff said.
