Felt like a Michigan loss in our big games the last few years

Georgia loss to Alabama felt like our team the last few years in big games where one team is ahead at the half and go way to conservative in the second and fail to close out a game. Give Bama a lot of credit, but the offensive play calling by Georgia in the second half went way to conservative and failed to go for the kill.

Taylor Cummings is the greatest women’s lacrosse player

She won the tewaaraton award 3 times which is the most by any player. No doubt about it Hannah is a great player and is an exceptional coach with the talent to bring Michigan to the promise land. The next few years will be exciting to see how she turns the program into a perennial powerhouse.

Blake O'Neill has been a

Blake O'Neill has been a large part of our special teams success this year. His ability to pin a team deep and flip the field is unmeasurable. I can't remember another punter having as much success as this young man in my 33 years of watching Michigan football (not my age but he period where it meant something). This is an outstanding young man who deserves a lot of praise. Mistakes happen in sports, if they didn't we wouldn't need great coaches like Harbaugh. I look forward to seeing this kid set some records this year. Go Blue!!!!!

Floyd if it goes the distance, which i believe it will

Anyone who thinks either of these two won't put on a good show are kidding themseleves.  I don't believe there will be a knock out.  I think both are beyond that capability at this point.  That said, this going to be a good fight 5 years late or not.

Who Cares.

While I understand your point on the NFL reporters, my question back to you is why should I care?  We got our coach, and in the end I could care less what any reporter has to say about why he came to Michigan.  In the end, all of this is just speculation and no one knows why he is coming to Michigan, except Jim.  While I respect the opinion, this type of post seems as petty as the NFL guys trying to cover their own butts

Coaches have to take the gloves off

IMO both the o-line and d-line this year was extremely basic. We didn't see a lot of movement from the d-line and each player really played one on one. We need to see more formations and looks that challenge the offensive coordinators. I believe this is due in large part to the coaches trying to protect these kids from themselves. Next year they have to get more aggressive and take the gloves off. Talent and youth have been mostly to blame, but that no longer is an excuse.

Go blue

Probably reported by ace Williams

Someone is trying to make a story out of nothing

Amen

Look, it wasn't our finest moment.  There is a lot to learn from a game like today.  Rather then sit here and complain about the dirty play, it's good to see a positive thought and comments about the direction of this program.

It's a great time to be a Michigan fan!  Go Blue!

Big Will Campbell

What a great thread.  It has to start in the trenches on the defensive side.  If we get pressure with our front 4, our back four will be just fine.  Defense will improve.  It has to be Big Will.

Upon a recent visit

I took a recent tour of the Stadium at the end of June and the phrase was still there in the tunnel.

Hoke Fan From the Beginning

I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of RR.  His first year really hurt him in my eyes when he didn't try to adapt the U of M prgram to something more becoming of the talent that was here when he took over.  It seemed he was hell bent on implementing the spread.  If anyone remembers, but Lloyds last game against Florida, we implemented a pro-style spread that was pretty damn affective.  Seems to me had RR looked to be a little more flexible that would have done him worlds of good.

No need to belabor the past.  Hoke has come in a blazing.  I love the approach the coaching staff is taking to the talent, and how they are attacking the recruiting world for the talent that fits what they want to do.  I am super excited for the future again.

Shutdown

This one has been shutdown by the feds.

Great News!

Great update Tom as always.  I was wondering if there was any news on the Dan O'Brian front.  All has been quiet it seems for the past several weeks on his end?  If Godin commits, does this affect O'Brian?

obviously not a michigan man

I think it goes without saying, that Cullen is not a Michigan man.  I wish him the best.

AJ To OL

More likely AJ will move to the O-Line.  He is already pretty close to this in size as it is.  This will give us the room for a Ron.

Take a Deep Breath Everyone

It seems to me that we are jumping the gun a little here.  It is a little premature to start throwing in the towel or counting them out before they get started over an average or less than average spring.  It’s only been a couple of weeks.  Let’s give them some time.

Couple of main points that are different from 2008 to this year:

1.  We have experience and talent returning at almost every position.  In 2008, we graduated one of the best offensive tackles, QB, RB, and a defense that lost 2 exceptional LB's, and 2 DB's.  The talent just wasn't there at some very key positions to run the spread most notably the QB position.

2.  The support for the coaching staff and the belief in them is much higher than in 2008.  The amount of hurdles that lay in front of Rich Rod were very significant and took away from this program

3.  I believe the one major benefit in moving the offense to a pro-style has to deal with long sustained drives.  With the spread we had to make first downs.  The offense was so fast that if we didn’t, the defense would be back out on the field with very little rest (as was the case in 2008).  With the pro-style, we can expect better clock management, with hopefully longer sustained drives.
