There's a simple solution to this- stop reading opinions of people on this board. Even though they are all Michigan fans- they sometimes are quite negative. Live in ignorant bliss- live was so much easier in the 90s before I was able to see that the UFR of the right tackle has been negative for 4 weeks counting.
80s: 5 tournament appearances. Other than our championship, ONE team made it to the sweet 16.
90s: 1 EPIC recruiting class, which led us to two national championship appearances and 1 elite eight. The other 3 times in the 90s we made the tournament we didn't make the sweet sixteen. Sure we recruited well in other years, but all times we underachieved.
Please check the defense ratings for those stauskas years and get back to me. This team has nearly the same stats as the one with Stauskas that went to the elite 8. Only difference is we can't finish games. Winning time can't be taught.
Yeah, that's just wrong. I didn't see Beilein on the floor there. Sometimes it's on the players on the court to actually make plays. We just happened to relax at the worst possible moment.
This is what I don't understand. You are right, we aren't a top tier program. There's no way we are going to compete with Kansas, Duke, UNC, and Louisville every year for a number one ranking. But this isn't football. You get in the tournament, and then anything can happen. Being one tier below is the ceiling for Michigan basketball, and as soon as people realize we aren't going to get 5* basketball players, people can start appreciating the product we put on the floor.
While he currently is not an NBA player, he fits the mold of the things you can't teach (size/wingspan/raw talent). I could see him being drafted next year based on his "potential".
The bubble is quite soft this year. I agree on that it wouldn't be ideal to lose to Nebraska, but that's definitely not a death sentence to our tournament hopes.
This exactly. We need ten minutes from someone next year to spell Walton and RAHK. I'd say it's safe to assume he's better than Dakich (though I love me some Dakich)- so there's improvement right there.
All major players coming back plus a useful backup PG- next year we'll be back competing for a BIG championship (or at least second, that MSU class is ridiculous.)

Zak Irvin lost us this game as much as I lost us this game. Notre Dame outplayed us in the second half. They hit shots and got 50/50 balls and calls. Everyone other than RAHK was pretty weak, but I don't go around blaming the person that pretty much got us here for losing a game that we shouldn't have been in.

Adjustment one: Get open looks. (Wait, we got those)
Adjustment two: magically make us hit every shot we take (haven't figured that one out yet, so I guess we have to fire beilein and hire a wizard?)
Adjustment three: Make them take tough shots (we did that too)
Adjustment four: Run the offense that got us here...did that.
Adjustment five: Make Zak Irvin hit every clutch shot he takes instead of just 1 for every 2.
