I live in Columbus. OSU fans…

I live in Columbus. OSU fans are super kind and gracious to me here. Just kidding. They're almost always horrible. It ain't easy being a Michigan fan in the lion's den.

Anyway, Columbus actually has a ton of good restaurants to choose from. I'd second The Sycamore in German Village - thesycamoregv.com, Schmidts is always solid for great German cuisine - www.schmidthaus.com/, Harvest for Pizza - harvestpizzeria.com/, and Aab for great Indian food - https://www.aabindiarestaurants.com/. If you're looking for steak you can't really go wrong with one of the many Cameron Mitchell restaurants or the class Top Steak House in the Bexley area - https://thetopsteakhouse.com/.

Good luck to you! Enjoy your stay, and don't wear any gear near campus!

Soccer

I love soccer but the amount of diving, flopping, and "injuries" is infuriating. Lets put in penalty boxes and let them punch each other in the face like hockey. The next person to fake an injury gets the people's elbow to the solar plexus.

Hypothetically...

I'd be against going Independent simply because teams without a conference championship have a harder time making the playoff. That said, the Big 12 would present the same issue. However, if we went to the Big 12 AND they added a championship game that would be the only thing I'd be ok with I think.

cry, laugh, giggle, scream...

I'll surely be hammered by the time the game is over so I'll probably cry/laugh like an escaped mental patient...then scream something out my front door for any OSU fan within earshot to hear...but they won't hear me because they'll be too busy crying and calling in to local radio to ask for Urban's head on a platter (because they don't know how to lose and will conveniently forget about all of the wins and championships).

Meh

The formula for Mike & Mike:

Greeny: "The sky is blue."

Golic: "Whaaaaaat?! You're insane! The Sky is obviously fucia. I don't even understand how you could come to the conclusion that the sky is blue."

*lather, rinse, repeat

Good.

Arena was always the safe pick who was supposed to keep the ship afloat long enough to qualify. He didn't so goodbye. Now lets please not hire another "safe" boring dude. But we probably will so get ready for them to announce Tab Ramos.

Something

We need to do something. If Ulizio is getting destroyed now against meh competition and JBB is his replacement...um....uh...not good. Brian and Ace's suggestion makes the most sense to me. Bredeson has played tackle previously and Ruiz or Runyan would logically replace him as they're already getting some rotation time anyway.

We need to figure something out prior to playing teams like OSU who eat tackles alive or it won't matter who's playing QB.

Math

Because Math.

Because eventually both programs have to succeed just based on the mathematical odds that eventually they'll win championships even by accident.

The Cubs eventually made it happen so....

Spot on

You're spot on. Gulati needs to go. Arena was the safe pick to guide us into the World Cup after the Klinsmann experiement, but we need fresh blood. I'd be ok with pretty much any of the names being floated at the moment. I think Brian even made the point a year back that we don't seem to take a look at any of the young guys playing in Europe. We have multiple guys between 18-22 playing in top tier leagues who never seem to get even a mention. We need to start building around Pulisic and starting focusing on the next Gold Cup & Copa America as well as finally qualifying for the next Olympics.

In the meanwhile I'm going to continue to be depressed.

Ummmm....

This is why drinking paint is bad for you mmmkay.

Missouri is not Michigan and if your QB starts peeing blood after the game take him to a doctor immediately.

my picks...

So tough this early on when we're still sorting out who these teams really are but here goes...

1. Penn State

2. TCU

3. W. Michigan

4. Rutgers (gotta get that one win for the season)

5. Oregon (I feel like this one could go either way)

6. Clemson (because Auburn still sucks)

7. OSU (unless Oklahoma's defense can stop the run and their offense follows IU's game plan plus can establish some sort of run game)

8. Georgian (Because Notre Dame still sucks and should not be ranked)

9. Stanford (I'm not completely sold on USC's return)

10. Utah

11. Washington State

12. Arizona

13. San Diego State

Ummmm....

I go back and forth between...

A) Thoroughly enjoying the ridiculous fan reaction when they lose (aka fire the coach immediately despite the fact he's won us National Champtionships and has us in contention every single year wah wah wah wah!!!)

AND

B) The absolute joy that I would feel if they came into Ann Arbor undefeated with eveything on the line and got absolutely punched in the face by the Wolverines. (sadly some of us are old enough to remember when that was a thing that actually happened in real space and time.)

OSU no question.

1. OSU - mostly because I live in Columbus and have to endure the insane cult of buckeye

2. MSU

3. Notre Dame

4. Bama

5. USC

BONUS: Basically any SEC school because of the overhyped SEC love that is so prevalent. In general, any warm weather school. Must be tough recruiting to a school with a beach. Come play in the snow like a real man.

USC

I hate the fact teams have to schedule years in advance. You never know if that team will still be a top level team by the time you actually play them. However, I'd love to see us beat on USC annually.

Young but talented

I'm excited to see:

1) a very young but extremely talented team.

2) all the detracters quickly realize that Michigan rotates a TON on defense and even though we lost a ton of starters will still be quite good.

3) Evans and Higdon at RB behind (hopefully) an improved line

4) An improved Speight?

5) Harbaugh doing Harbaugh type things

OSU's recruiting pitch should

OSU's recruiting pitch should be "Come to play QB...then something else in the NFL." QB draw up the middle, QB draw up the middle, QB draw up the middle....

personal hell

As a Michigan fan and current resident of Columbus, Ohio I am begging Michigan and any holy diety I can think of for a victory today.  OSU fans are by far and away the most obnoxious sports fans in the history of organized sports and a victory will only encourage them further.  We cannot allow this.  We must send them back to the trailer park in tears.  Go BLUE!!!!

dumb dumb dumb dumb

What is it with football players who play for teams in Michigan getting arrested for driving under the influence of some various chemical?!  Call a cab or a friend or a magic carpet or a unicorn or something!!!  Just don't get in the car!!!  This is a classic example of young kids doing dumb things and forgetting that they represent something much larger than themselves.
