Caldwell went to the…

Caldwell went to the playoffs twice in his first three years, compared to the one time they made the playoffs in the fourteen years prior. I'd say that's getting the Lions closer to winning something.

And those 2.5 quarters were…

And those 2.5 quarters were non-consecutive. Very weird game.

I've never heard in-stadium music come through so clearly on the broadcast. That Queen song was just blasting in the background.

2 from Shea. 1st one was really weak, 2nd one Turner missed a CB blitz. BVS lost the 3rd.

I wonder if Ben Mason just…

I wonder if Ben Mason just isn't ready enough at DT to be in the game during Big Ten play, but he's an ultimate team guy so Harbaugh wants to get him on the field while he can. MTSU was a good opportunity to get Mason playing time during a season in which he might live up to his nickname...

I got a bit addicted to the first one and led Michigan through something like the 2055-2056 season with 35 or so National Championships. I probably shouldn't download this one...but you know what's about to happen.

What's with the State fans…

What's with the State fans in the front row? Gross.

Got to him for 4 early, then he settled in. Good call!

Maybe it's because I was too young to really appreciate the Fab Five, but I'll take the 2+ championships option please.

If you're ever near…

If you're ever near Bradenton, Good Liquid Brewing Company is one of the best breweries I've ever been to. Tons of variety and everything was done well. And this is coming from a Michigan transplant in Denver so I've been spoiled with good breweries.

Hey, I was skeptical at…

Hey, I was skeptical at first too. But the cauliflower crust is 1/2 the calories. You can eat the whole frozen pizza and keep it under 1000, whereas with a Digiornio you're over 2000. Some of them suck, but the one I linked definitely holds up to other frozen pizzas in terms of taste.

My girlfriend and I have…

My girlfriend and I have been opting for cauliflower crust frozen pizza and this one from Costco is by far the best one we've found. It still gets crispy even though it's cauliflower and it's a much better price than the cauliflower crust frozen pizzas at the grocery store.

I'm a big fan of Home Run…

I'm a big fan of Home Run Inn too. It's got that buttery, flaky crust and it reminds me a bit of the Lou's deep dish. It's usually a couple dollars more than the other choices but when it goes on sale it's hard to beat.

Yes, both outcomes are…

Yes, both outcomes are brutal, but that doesn't mean that hits were the same. The two incidents are completely different. The hit on Oshie is a cross check to the back when his head is a few feet from the boards. That's an incredibly dangerous hockey play that results in a major penalty every time. The Pavelski hit is a pretty standard hockey play. Centers cross-check their counterpart off the face off all the time. Usually both players keep a low center of gravity and play moves on, but on this play Pavelski stands up straight and the crosscheck knocks him off balance. Everything that happens after that is incidental.

A 5 minute major can be assessed if the referee deems that there was intent to injure-the fact that there was an injury shouldn't effect the ruling. So, everything that happens after the cross-check is irrelevant to the penalty call (unless the ref thinks that the secondary hit from Stastny included intent to injure, which as I stated above, I don't think is the case).

Wow, this never happens on…

Wow, this never happens on the internet. I don't know how to proceed.

All that being said, there was a guy sprawled out on the ice bleeding out of his helmet and the referee had to decide without the benefit of replay whether there was intent to injure. It was a tough call for sure.

I don't think "double-teamed…

I don't think "double-teamed" is accurate. Eakin cross-checked Pavelski who becomes off balance, Stastny is trying to skate to the point man (watch his eyes, he's looking at the puck not at Pavelski) and runs into the off-balance Pavelski. Stastny doesn't even get a penalty on the play. No way that a simple cross check off of the face-off warranted the penalty that Eakin got.

I don't think that the match…

I don't think that the match penalty call was correct. Should have been a two-minute penalty for cross-checking as I don't think that Eakin showed an intent to injure Pavelski. It was a freak play with a scary result, but I think they called the penalty based on the outcome and not on the action.

With that being said, I'm glad they called that penalty because it led to the most exciting hockey I've ever seen. 3-0 to 4-3 in less than 5 minutes, a last minute game-tying goal, wide-open Game 7 OT hockey...absolutely exhilarating.

Pretty crazy stat:

The eventual winners of Virginia's region the last five years have been #11 seed Loyola in 2018, #7 South Carolina in 2017, #10 Syracuse in 2016, #7 Michigan State in 2015, and #7 UConn in 2014.

My cable situation is…

My cable situation is...unique.

I don't think you can do a single month. As far as trials that you can cancel it seems like FuboTV and HuluTV would be your best bet. Both offer 1-week free trials, which should get you through to the point where all the games are on CBS.

If you're willing to bend some rules then reddit . com /r/ ncaabballstreams should have you covered.

Wouldn't that be awesome? Texas Tech scares me.

Noticed the body language as…

Noticed the body language as well, especially on the bench. MSU bench was hype the whole second half. No emotion on our bench. Obviously the moment was swinging the wrong way and it's hard to fire up when your lead is dwindling, but it would be nice to see some encouragement from the guys on the sideline.

I loved it. Game started at 430 in Colorado. Started the weekend a little early with a Michigan W. Good stuff.

I was a little scared that going into Assembly Hall on a Friday night was gonna be rough. The 17-0 start says otherwise. Their crowd was awesome though. Watching on TV it felt a lot closer because every time IU scored a couple of buckets in a row the crowd reacted like the were on a 10-0 run.

Definitely. A win's a win…

Definitely. A win's a win and I'm glad it worked out. But, I was screaming for Iggy to kick that ball out. The play was drawn up perfectly.

Damn. If Teske goes out I dont like our chances. Happ will have his way with Davis.

Gotta get the ball moving…

Gotta get the ball moving. Too many possessions with only Z, Poole and maybe a Teske handoff touching the ball at the top of the key while two guys stand in the corner. Poole forced into too many long twos. Would like to see Mathews get involved.

Very weak call on Iggy...damn

Get these damn graphics off the screen ESPN. Half the action was covered up for 7 possessions. And announcers not even calling the game...

Since this is a posbang and I can't get negged for asking dumb questions...Is there a way to view your own recent comments without finding one inside a thread and clicking on your username? I feel like you use to be able to by clicking your username in the top corner of the homepage, but now I get the update password and add profile picture page when I do that.

Also, does MGoBlog have an alert when someone replies directly to your comment? It's tough to keep up a conversation when you have to go searching for your comments to see if anyone responded.

I'm glad Don Brown is…

I'm glad Don Brown is staying. But, the pessimist in me looks at the OSU game next year and sees Ryan Day, whose offense just hung 62 on us, along with 2 former members of Don Brown's staff on the opposing sideline and I wonder how in the world our defense could possibly have a chance in that game. If there's any game where DB is going to have to break away from his stubbornness and gameplan a little differently it's that one.

I know that it's a sports…

I know that it's a sports cliche, but can we stop with the "they wanted it more" line? You don't think Shea Patterson wanted to win that game and go to the CFP? You don't think Jim Harbaugh, a borderline crazy competitor, wanted to win that game? You dont think Chase Winovich wanted to win that game? C'mon. Yes, as fans we want it. We want it bad. It hurts when we dont get it. It hurts bad. But I promise you that those guys, who worked for months and years to get the chance to play and coach in that spot wanted it more than anyone on this blog. Sometimes wanting it doesn't overcome a talent disparity. Sometimes you can want it and still be outschemed. OSU was better than us that day, but not because they wanted it more.
