Aren't you a part of it?

If not, then STFU.

Harder, not exponentially so

Otherwise spot on.

Brilliant analysis

He owns him alright?  Oh, they're 1-1?  Never mind.

After all the speculation 3 years ago

You'd think everyone would know that people paid to talk about college football on TV - or any other subject for that matter - will say anything, whether or not it has a shred of truth.  So what if a graduate of OSU speculates about Harbaugh returning to the NFL?  This is the same guy who reported Les Miles to Michigan, right?  Herbie knows nothin' about nothin' in this department.

Better athletes?

You're seeing something I am not.  I am not excusing the coaching, especially O line, but what makes anyone think Wisconsin's D has better athletes than our O or that they get "destroyed" by any team with clearly inferior talent?  PSU and MSU are not inferior in talent, at least not clearly so, and if it ain't clear, you can't really make that sort of claim.  And if you're referring to other teams' offenses, again, what basis for declaring we have "better atheltes"?

I don’t think anyone understood it was supposedly sarcastic. Myself included.
There’s always an excuse for everything. Can’t change that. But I haven’t heard one yet from the coach. So who is making excuses here?
I’ve heard that one before Unlikely? Yes perhaps. Out of the realm of possibility? No.
Legitimate is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Two different teams. How can last year’s team be compared to this one in terms of improvement? And the suggestion that the QB decision was botched is, being generous, pure speculation.
Don’t usually like name calling But that one fit.
sick of all the talk of being “elite” This is Michigan, for God’s sake. Being a Michigan fan is about pulling for your team, through thick and thin. It’s not about a bunch of college age kids and their coaches meeting your expectations. If you want elite and want it now, go jump on the Saban bandwagon. I’ll stay right here.
Exactly Yes. Yes. Yes. Bo lost a lot of Rose Bowls and people questioned a lot of what he did. But he was our coach and our team’s leader. Harbaugh has that same quality. Would’ve been nice not to fumble a punt against State a couple of years ago and if we’d gotten the call in Columbus last year. I was distraught for a bit each time. However, don’t tell me we’re not heading in the right direction. We absolutely, positively are. The Rich Rod and Hoke years were pretty bleak. Those who stay . . .
I agree with you You are negative.
Thank you! Enjoy the game. Root for your team. Ask questions and second guess the coaches from time to time. But don’t overthink things by trying to gauge the “proper” level of expectation. It’s not you out there. It’s your team. Support your school or go find a pro team to follow.
Lighten up, Francis The difference was an inch. You win some, you lose some.
MODS - please nuke this whole thread It’s engrossing in one sense but really embarrassing in all others. Can we stick to football?
Rage on Seems like a silly reaction to a football game over which you have exactly zero input or control. So rage on, I guess, if that’s your deal but don’t act righteous about it or pretend it’s anything other than an overreaction to what is at the end of he play simply a game.
Do you disagree? If so maybe you can say why please rather than going right to an ad hominem attack.
Dantonio is a good coach And a prick. But he is not doing anything out of the ordinary. He’s a boxer too. Just one who usually finds a good QB. We do not seem to be able to do so. I loved Denard but I long for the days of Brady-Henson QB battle.
It’s a little more than school colors For a lot of us we grew up with Michigan football and teams that, whatever their faults, usually controlled the trenches and played better in the second half than in the first. I’m also in the take a breath and get a life crowd but this isn’t just an attachment to team colors for a lot of folks.
Agreed - pride isn’t the right to word for me I am happy to move on but we looked terrible and I’m not sure I saw a level of intensity or effort that I’d want to see from a Michigan football team. We were manhandled. And JH does seem a bit detached this year.
Expectations When i was 9 years old I listened to Ufer call a missed FG hat would’ve kept us undefeated in week 9 or 10. Ar Purdue I think. It hurt the rest of the weekend. Then I grew up and realized that no matter how ridiculous I may behave during a game, it’s just a game and you need to get some perspective. Demanding that a football team or coach or QB perform to your level of satisfaction is a recipe for resentment and unhappiness. Watch the game, root for your team, then return to real life. It’s really not that big of a deal.
Who isn’t giving them credit? They did look bad. We looked worse. Thinking they’ll get crushed by PSU and OSU doesn’t take anything away from them.
Except for the PA on 4th down No idea what was happening there. I hope your explanation is the right one, or do I? No bueno either way
Exactly Your read my mind.
Do we have playmakers? Honest question. I hope that’s the case but it really doesn’t look like it. We looked slow tonight.
I don’t know about arrogance Just got out coached tonight. In all phases. And out played. And they’re better team. Play this game over 10 times and we win 2, maybe 3. Will be interesting to see what Penn State does next week. I won’t watch it because I can’t stand Penn State or Ohio State but it will be interesting for someone to swe I guess.
They won the coaching battle Consistently found the match ups they wanted. Tall WR on safety. Barkley on McCray. And teams seem to be figuring out how to slow down our rush. By holding often but not all the time. We’re not getting pressure and our defense demands that.
3-9 State does not always win with what they have. However one thing they do seem to get consistently is a qb with an attitude and a running back that can churn out yards.
Are you a Michigan fan or a troll Are you a Michigan fan or a troll? If you want another coach, go follow another team. Harbaugh is our guy like it or not. I’m disappointed too but if you really think we can do better than JH, don’t hold your breath. So bitch and moan or pick yourself up and move on.
All coaches are overpaid All coaches are overpaid. Who do you suggest we find now? I hear Brady Hoke would take a lesser contract to come back. Let’s save the money, right?
If you want to be Alabama or Ohio State If you want to be Alabama or Ohio State then go root for them. I’m a Michigan fan. Go Blue!
Disasters are real This was a football game. No disasters here. Go to bed.
Laughing at us? If you don’t like the Michigan football “brand” then make like Brandon and get the fuck out. There are plenty of other teams to follow. Find one.
Defense Defense had been a pleasant surprise up till now. I thought it would keep us in any game, but it didn’t. That was the biggest disappointment tonight.
Really? Rage? Fucking grow up.
That's the fact, Jack!

JOK is out there giving it his all.  Let's not trash the kid.  I think a lot of us had high hopes for the season, and the State loss took the winds out of out sails.  I flew in for the game, like I did two years ago, and again walked out diappointed and somber.  But what good is all this anger and criticism?  We all hope JOK will look like he did against Purdue and, when we don't see that happening, we want Peters to step up and give us something we haven't seen all season - a productive offense.  I must have yelled for Peters to be put in at least 3 or 4 times during the game.  He wasn't - and we won anyway.  My guess is there is a pretty good reason we're not seeing Peters yet, and it's not JH's teaching him a lesson or rewarding seniority over production.  Is this disappointing?  Of course, but - setting aside the need to make any sort of judgment about a college kid at this point - what grounds does Balas have to call Peters a bust?

I didn't hear any complaints

I think everyone is happy for Higdon.  He looked good - and the line looked ok too (although again I am waiting for us to be able to run 3x for a first down to close out a game).  All I see is a thought that it might be nice to see more of Walker.  I liked his run and also was surprised that was his only carry of the day.  And the thread about Dillon didn't seem like a complaint, as much as simply reporting a fact, one which at least I thought it was interesting and something I probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise.  That said, I'm glad no one created a thread about Damien Harris.

Fly the W!

I've been at this for almost 50 years.  I will be a cradle to grave Michigan fan.  Let's lighten up and enjoy the win.  Before 2008, I couldn't imagine a losing season.  A 6-6 record in '84 was a bad as it could get, right?  And at least the 6th loss was to the national champion (BYU).  Well, things can get bad, as we now all know, but they could be much worse.  The team is 5-1.  The loss to State stings, still, and will all season.  But a win is better than a loss so let's happily fly the W this week -- unlike those at Clemson, Washington, etc. -- and hope we can surprise Penn State next week.  Go Blue!

Is Wisconsin "a good team"?

Because they just beat Purdue by 8 at home.  JOK and Michigan beat Purdue by 18 on the road.  Today was not a great showing, but next week is a new game.  Expect a little less and enjoy things a little more.

Here here!

Look, I was probably as frustrated as anyone during this game but a W is a W.  Life is short.  R E L A X !

Up and down

You play up to better competition, down to lesser.  Pretty easy to understand.  He conceded team is playing down to comp.  But let's have some fun and hope for a better showing next week.  Or sit in your shit all week. Your pick, man.

Selective memory

RR wins were less frequent but equally frustrating in precisely the opposite fashion - some fun on O and absolutely no defense.  I'll take this year's team and our direction forward over RR any day.  Talk about depressing.  This is, at worst, a season similar to many we had under Bo and Lloyd.

Ridiculous

I gave up on the Lions when I was 13 years old.  That was a good move and has saved me a lot of angst.  To give up on Michigan at this point, when you apparently did not do so in 2010 or 2014, is ridiculous.

Speaking of Janus ... Did Zordich reached out to him while in Rome? I hear he has eligibility and great swivel and vision - almost like he has eyes in the back of his head.
