One of the biggest myths in…

One of the biggest myths in sports is that somehow Djokovic achieved his success against a diminished Federer and Nadal. Nothing can be further from the truth. Consider that when Djokovic emerged as the top player in the world in 2011 he did so after a 2010 season in which Nadal won 3 Grand Slams. In order to become No. 1, Djokovic had to square off against Nadal in a final SIX times in 2011 and Djokovic won all SIX. What we saw then and continued to see, wasn't a diminished Nadal, it was a player in Djokovic that reached a slightly higher level. Something that even Nadal admits.

The same is true with Federer. It is not as if Federer stopped winning matches after 2011. He dominated EVERYONE not named Nadal or Djokovic. In 2015, Djokovic beat Federer in two Grand Slam finals, and knocked him off in the 2014 and 2019 Wimbledon finals, As late as 2017-2018, when Djokovic had his elbow issue and had to leave the tour, Federer was winning not only Grand Slams (3 of them) but was adding Masters 1000 titles. In fact, Federer didn't drop a set in winning the 2017 Wimbledon championship. But once Djokovic found his form, Federer's title runs ended again.

Was there coaching in this…

Was there coaching in this game? I must have missed it.

No, his team stopped caring…

No, his team stopped caring what he had to say a while ago.

So we have a 5-4 team going…

So we have a 5-4 team going into Year 6 of Harbaugh. That should make everyone feel better.

But but but “Trust in Harbs”…

But but but “Trust in Harbs” but but but “if the coaches want a no name 3 star it is good enough for me” but but but “when Harbs beats OSU in year 9 what will the haters say then” but but but “0 Big Ten Titles, 0 championships, 0 wins vs OSU, 1 bowl win, the 2 worst losses in the OSU rivalry history, Who has it better than us!”

Harbaugh doesn't have the…

Harbaugh doesn't have the best reputation with instate coaches. It is not that he goes out of his way to be a jerk, but he puts little to no time in building relations with instate coaches. That is in sharp contrast with past Michigan coaches like Carr and Hoke, they built such good relationships with instate coaches, that the HS coaches would steer kids to the program, which is how you built pipelines. That is a common practice in recruiting. But it is far more palatable to blame the HS coaches rather than a Harbaugh recruiting shortcoming.

Seems like the only kids…

Seems like the only kids Michigan doesn’t back off from these days are 3-star players from Massachusetts.

No one Pats themselves on…

No one Pats themselves on the back more for almost doing something quite like Michigan.

So pretty much we have…

So pretty much we have scheduled a 10 win season in 2022. That Jim Harbaugh. What a competitor!

Too bad Ohio State didn’t…

Too bad Ohio State didn’t think like that when they had John Cooper. Those idiots actually thought a guy from Youngstown State was a better option.

Four 3rd place or lower Big…

Four 3rd place or lower Big Ten east finishes in five years. Shocker he hasn’t been given a life long contract.

Oh I get it, we’re still…

Oh I get it, we’re still pretending that Harbaugh knows that he’s doing.

The poster that hinted…

The poster that hinted Patterson and Muzzcuah might not be part of the class just went to the bottom on our commitment list and picked the two lowest ranked recruits that actually had football scholarships. Nothing credible has indicated that will not be part of the class.

The bending is reality on…

The bending is reality on here is really becoming embarrassing. So now we have academic restraints? Michigan operates under the exact same restraints that OSU, Bama, Clemson and all other Division I programs do. We have adopted the NCAA minimum requirement for athletic admissions and participation. The only Power 5 program that asks its athletes to meet higher admission standards is Stanford. When was the last time Michigan passed on a kid cause he couldn’t get into the school? If he can get into OSU on an athletics scholarship, he can get in Michigan, without exception. And If your grades aren’t good enough, no problem go to prep school for a year like Brad Hawkins and your in. Now there are some schools within a University like engineering, that might ask for higher qualifications in order to be admitted to, but that is different from getting in general studies and participating in sports. Let’s stop with the excuses.

Santonio Holmes has an agent…

Santonio Holmes has an agent while he was at OSU!!!!! OMG, how is Michigan ever expected to win a game!?!?! What chance do we have?!?!? They need to look into that ASAP. I bet it is even worse than the rumors. I bet he had two agents, one from State Farm too, just like Aaron Rodgers.

We aren’t an elite program…

We aren’t an elite program because we don’t have the right coach and leaders. Any program with the obscene resources of Michigan has should be expected to win and win big. There is nothing standing in the way of Michigan being an elite program other than simply not having a coach that can get the job done. And right now it seems like we are done trying. We will take our 3rd place Big Ten East finishes and start beating the excuses drum.

Brian, so in the aftermath…

Brian, so in the aftermath of another humiliating loss, that is what you can away with? It just shows how far this program has fallen, we are no longer interested in solutions, all we want are excuses.

The reason we lose is because Terrell Pryor got some tattoos, that Urban Myer employed a scumbag coach, that their QB in 2019 is taking online classes, oh the horror.

The reality is that no coach in college football has been given more resources than Jim Harbaugh. He has literally been handed a blank check, given complete autonomy of the program and its vast resources to do and shape as he pleases. There is seemingly no limit to the amount of money he has to hire the best coordinators he can find, he can augment his staff with as many analysts positions has he can dream up.

The reason we continue to lose is simply because Jim Harbaugh is not good enough to beat them. He doesn't recruit good enough, he doesn't coach good enough, he doesn't motivate good enough, and he doesn't prepare good enough. In Jim Harbaugh's 5 years, Michigan has finished 3rd place or lower in the Big Ten East in 4 of those years. Let that sink in for a second. Four out of 5 years, we have finished 3rd place or lower among the 7 teams on our side of the conference. That is what we have become, a program with a  low ceiling and a lot of excuses.

Should we give him a raise?

Should we give him a raise?

Well said.

Well said.

You are dead wrong. You don…

You are dead wrong. You don’t settle for good when you are trying to be great. You don’t take comfort in mediocrity because “it could be worse”. It could be worse true but it could be better too. If OSU had that same thought process they would have never got rid of John Cooper (who did far more at OSU than Harbaugh has done here) and hired Tressel. It was that move and that turned their program into the best program in the Big Ten and a yearly NC contender.

Harbaugh, like every coach Michigan hires, has one goal = winning championships. If you’re not getting it done, then you look for someone else. The only thing worse then not winning championships is not trying to win them. And by embracing the status quo that is exactly what you are doing.

Shouldn’t we be building a…

Shouldn’t we be building a program ready to take on the best college football team? And not hope and pray they suck when we play so we can get our coveted 10 win season.

So when is Harbaugh going to…

So when is Harbaugh going to fix the QB problem? Not like he hasn’t had time to recruit and develop a QB. I think we had 10+ years of putting our starting QB in the NFL under Moeller/Carr. So now it is too much to ask to get one serviceable QB in 5 years.

Oh I get it, Harbaugh is he…

Oh I get it, Harbaugh is he one doing Michigan a favor. All

Some of us have been saying…

Some of us have been saying that from Day 1.

I don’t know how to tell you…

I don’t know how to tell you this, but we played Wisconsin yesterday, not Ohio State. Did RichRod have any nuggets of wisdom on why he couldn’t beat Wisconsin?

Please just shut up

Nm

He left before he could ruin…

He left before he could ruin Luck

Brown inherited a defensive…

Brown inherited a defensive line that was two deep in NFL talent. Not hard to build around that. These are his and Harbaugh guys and we do not have the personnel to be a top defense. And that is at the feet of DB and JH.

What makes you think…

What makes you think Harbaugh could have beaten John Cooper? His 1-9 record against top 10 teams.

i was not a Carr fan, with all the NFL talent he had, I think his teams should have accomplished more. But at least he did something as a Michigan coach. Harbaugh has done nothing.

Another post embracing…

Another post embracing mediocrity. Driving another nail in what was once a proud program. It is more than sad, it is heartbreaking.

Or it could be fans are…

Or it could be fans are tired of losing to OSU every year and waiting for Harbaugh to finally deliver some type of championship. Fans are dying for something to get excited about and the performance in the first two games wasn’t it.

“However, the thing giving…

“However, the thing giving me a glimmer of hope is that last year's team also looked bad early on and we were all questioning after the NW and ND games if they could truly compete for the conference title.”

Not sure if that should give you any hope. What you saw post ND and NW was Michigan beating a series of bad teams, giving fans false confidence and then looked just as bad if not worse in the last 2 games than they did against ND and NW.

Let’s not kid ourselves 2018 was not a great season. If that is our ceiling we are in trouble as a program. But it seems more and more he fan base is becoming comfortable with those type of results.

That is pretty cool

That is pretty cool

Something to think about: We…

Something to think about: We were playing Middle Tennessee State. Our 3rd sting should beat them 42-3.

Completely wrong on your…

Completely wrong on your assessment. Doctors evaluate players and keep the coaches abreast of their condition as far if they are cleared to play or not. And u can be cleared to play and still get a medical as long as you have some type of condition documented. A medical can be given for a broad range of conditions. Players are treated differently based on talent. For example Mo Hurst had a diagnosis heart issue, probably at the top of the list for qualifying for a medical and he was allowed to play. Grant Newsome nearly died from his leg injury and he wasn’t given a medical until it was clear there was no coming back from it. While others have what amounts to a hang nail and get a medical only to go someplace else and play out there career. Most medical are just for roster management.

Secondary was a concern when…

Secondary was a concern when OSU picked us apart at will. And really the only thing that changed from last year is that we lost a NFL corner.

I am frustrated by fans that…

I am frustrated by fans that have lower the football teams expectations so low, that 0-4 vs. OSU, 2-2 vs MSU, 0-1 vs ND, 1-3 in bowl games, and 1-9 vs top 10 teams is considered acceptable.

How does he compare to…

How does he compare to Hakeem Haskins?

“Don’t know much about Payne…

“Don’t know much about Payne. Michigan will probably push for him but he may want to leave the state similar to a lot of other Belleville players”

Didn’t know East Lansing was out of state.

Two ways to look at it. If…

Two ways to look at it. If you’re doing your work upfront and recruiting the best possible players for your program, you should have more talent and contributors. When you are giving scholarships to MAC level players or below just to “bring in as much guys as possible” you need to move on from them quickly if you want to win.

You know what else is a…

You know what else is a college thing and not a Harbaugh thing? Winning conference titles and making the playoffs, since only a handful of college teams have done either of those things since 2016.

Harbaugh wasn't brought in for the status quo. You don't pay someone that type of money to be average. You can get that done with a lot smaller investment.

It's time for Harbaugh to live up to his paycheck.

I’m still confused that…

I’m still confused that Harbaugh thought it was a good idea to hire the OC from a winless NFL team.

But he is not wrong.

But he is not wrong.

I find it bizarre the way…

I find it bizarre the way they are packaging the spring game to the fans. Seems like instead of trying to generate excitement and enthusiasm, Harbaugh is taking a “there is nothing for you to see here, please move on” posture.

Let’s see the only skill…

Let’s see the only skill players left from Harbaughs 2016 class are Sean McKeon, Nick Eubanks and Brandon Peters. His 2017 RB recruits both gone. Harbaugh hasn’t started a QB he recruited five years into his tenure and his two starting tackles in Year 4 were lowly Hoke recruits.

Yeah that Harbaugh sure can spot talent.

I'm confused. For the last 5…

I'm confused. For the last 5 years, all I read on this message board is how Harbaugh is playing chess while everyone is playing checkers.

How come he has to change to backgammon all of a sudden?

NJ and Michigan produce the…

NJ and Michigan produce the about the same amount of 5-stars. Michigan produces a few more 4 stars on average.

Dude, put down the liquor,…

Dude, put down the liquor, you sound stupid.

“Those who stay will be”…

“Those who stay will be” what? Harbaugh torpedoed that quote anyway, by adding “and work hard”.

That modification changed the underlying meaning to the quote. The original quote put the onus on the cosches, it was “believe in what we’re doing and stick it through and you will be a champion” Harbaughs quote places the onus on the player “if we aren’t champions it’s cause you didn’t work hard enough”

Is there any truth to the…

Is there any truth to the rumor that Jack Harbaugh is talking an analyst position at OSU?
