I've heard the inside chatter too. Basically saying McCaffrey is the guy.

If we had a solid OL then yes I'd say burn the RS. If he's that good he won't be here 5 years anyway, and even if we lost an additional 1-2 games due to QB youth, it'd be worth it to gain an extra 1-2 games next year due to a more experienced QB.

But our OL is a tire fire. QBs can break. Plus there's no guarantee that McCaffrey is actually the guy & I think Peters/McCaffrey deserve a robust QB battle over spring ball and fall camp getting snaps with the 1s to prove themselves.

Bottom line the negatives outweigh the positives, so the whole "sacrifice this season and throw in the freshmen QBs to prepare for next year" strategy I think doesn't work with our current team roster.

I think the point is that given what we are seeing on the field, the fact that he hasn't even played in a game yet could certainly be taken as evidence that Peters is less than what he was reputed to be...

Peters should start rest of year, this team is 9-3 at best most likely 8-4, see what Peters has got build for next year and open competition between him and Mcaffery next year, mcaffery needs a year he needs put on 15 lbs of muscle before he plays. Look what a difference a year made for Lewerke he played some last year, better than any of our qb’s

Not surprising, that (dirty) hit was nasty. Yeah, I think his Michigan career is over. Tough injury to come back from and he has a hill to climb with Peters and McCaffery too. Wish him the best of luck in life though!

Am I the only one that doesn't really think anything was O'Korn's fault? What would Speight have brought last night that would have won that game? We're still going 5 wide in a monsoon with receivers that can't get open.

Right, but it's not like we could run the ball effectively for any extended period of time. We had to go 5 wide. If we were winning to start the second half, then by all means, run the dang ball. But we needed to drive to score a touchdown, and lining up in the I and running 3 times in a row wasn't going to cut it with our O Line.

Until Isaac fumbled.  That changed the momentum and the game.  Other teams seem to adjust but we don't have the brainpower on offense, period.  O'Korn obviously isn't the answer.  Our defense will keep us in games all year but we are not a contender with our QBs, and even more because of Drevno and Pep.  I know it's glaringly obvious.  I'm just hopeful that after 5 underwhelming games and last night's embarrassment that changes will be made.

Say what you want about Speight sailing his passes, his main strength is decision-making.  O'Korn has a tendency to run in the wrong direction, take too many sacks, and play too much hero ball.  I think I saw one throwaway last night -- he turfed a ball at Evsns's feet when the screen play they called wasn't open.  Forget the interceptions in the rain -- I think the best example is the third down and 9 at the MSU 40 after the holding call wiped out the touchdown pass.  Michigan had the wind and a kicker with a great leg.  Now, there's no guarantee that they even attempt a 57-yard field goal in those conditions, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

O'Korn got pressure, escaped, ran backwards, failed to get out of the pocket and throw the ball away, and took a 14-yard loss.  His desire to make plays takes over; sometimes, it's best to live to play another down.

I'm sure it was very difficult to grip the ball properly in those conditions, so some of those throws might not be entirely his fault (his teammates also dropped a few).  But he also forced too many passes into coverage.  Sometimes it's best to just throw it away and let your team punt, especially in a game like this where field position is huge.

Maybe someday JOK will start a game in Michigan Stadium that doesn't include a weather issue. Still think the playcalling is the bigger problem. Iso run blocking was effective last night, so what did Drevno & Co do? Go 5 wide and throw through sheets of rain, sprinkling in the inside zone that a bunch of guys on a blog knew was destined to fail spectacularly.

He will have a Michigan degree and a lot of great memories as a football player. But his career playing meaningful minutes is over. Fans appreciate his attempts this past offseason to lose weight and get better. Unfortunately it didn't work out.

I think harbaugh needs to consider playing peters or mccaffery, one of his QB, this year to get the experience since they are going to be the guy next year. Better to prepare them now instead of a process next year. I can't handle back to back poor learning/growing offenses. They can't be much worse than what's we've seen so far this season

The problem is the oline, not the QB. Why can't people get this?!? If you stay in the pocket you get fucked. That's why JOK is ready to bolt all the time and Speight has back to back season injuries.

The Oline sucks but not as bad as the decisions these two continue to make. O’korn was very lucky not to have had 6 picks. He runs when it’s not there and makes last second bad passes when East running lanes are there. It’s just not going to happen with him or Speight. I’m not saying they aren’t great kids, I know john is, just not this level of a QB.

It's not like either Speight or O'Korn are missing wide open receivers and it's not like they are getting consistently crushed before the receivers are getting a chance to run their routes. Yes, there are breakdowns from both the QB and the OL but the receivers aren't setting the world on fire either. Losing Tarik Black looks like it is hurting us. Crawford isn't showing much. DPJ is raw. Perry has been decent in spurts but he is more of a possession receiver. The TEs are a little raw as well. It's not like they are playing world-beating secondaries either. They should be able to torch some of these DBs that are covering them. I think a main reason O'Korn is getting happy feet is because there is nobody open. Because of that, the defenses are playing man-to-man and blitzing us like crazy.

Start Peters or McCaffrey. I know we won't, but this year is toast. Losing to a very, very mediocre MSU team at home essentially guarantees nothing much will come of this year. Peters or McCaffrey would have growing pains and lose us a game or two, but O'Korn will have "not growing" pains and lose us a game or two as well...
