Will Campbell arrested. For sliding over the hood of a car.

Felony and misdemeanor vandalism. Panic? Yeah, panic.

EDIT: He was only arraigned based on an April 7th incident. So, if the coaches know about it and allowed him to go to SEAL training, it might not be complete DOOM. Nevertheless, remain braced for panic. Just remember: in case of emergency, your recruiting seatbelt can be used as a safety device.

EDIT II: They've updated the story. It appears that he was arrested for sliding on the hood of a car which damaged the hood of the car because Will Campbell is a giant human being. So, to summarize: 1) Probably not a big deal. 2) Ann Arbor police and prosecutors suck, and 3) nothing good ever happens after midnight.

He has made SO much progress... this is depressing for him. I think in the past couple of months he has changed a ton. I hope, if he's not guilty or there's some extenuating circumstances, it all works out.

I don't know, if our NT is agile enough to (almost) slide across the hood of a car, drunk, in the middle of the night, I think this bodes well for his pass rushing ability.  This suggests he'll be a hood smashing machine beast on the field this fall.

I bet Brady Hoke laughed at Will when he heard about this. Honestly, it's hard to categorize what Campbell did as "malicious." I'm sure he didn't mean to damage the car, he was just acting like a drunk idiot, as we all do. If I was the prosecutor, I'd want Big Will to pay back the money of any damage he did to the vehicle, and then dismiss the case or find the tiniest misdemeanor I can find. Maybe even let him keep it off his record. I know felony SOUNDS like a big deal, but in this instance, it really isn't.

It should be noted that I made my comment before it came out that Will's destruction happened in the most comical way possible.

Being devil's advocate doesnt:

"I know felony SOUNDS likea  big deal, but in this instance, it really isn't"

Isn't that what we accuse MSU, Ohio, and ND fans of saying whenever their kids get into legal trouble? Not good for our program. If a Sparty fan said that about one of their kids just imagine the uproar here.

There's a big difference between drunkenly trying to dukes of hazard a car and assaulting a cop or threatening him (Thanks, Notre Dame). If you remember, when the news came out about Stonum, a lot of fans were calling for his suspension, if the rumors were true.

I can't say I disagree with you, but the "felony doesn't really sound bad" comment really put me off. That's the type of things we will quote MSU forums and laugh about.

Murder is a felony... and so is "seducing and debauching an unmarried woman."

Felony is a broad, broad category. None are "good," but some are way less bad than others.

After reading the article I would say I am worried, but nowhere near a panic.  As mentioned above, his inclusion in the leadership/SEAL trip might indicate the ultimate seriousness of the situation.

I can haz panic? I was soooo hoping he turned in a good senior season...man...I will trust the coaches to do what is right...regardless of how it may impact the team, should it be necessary.

When you're the God of Thunder, you're gonna break some shizz.  It comes with the job.  Next they'll want to bust Poseidon for flood damage.

(Kidding aside, I really hope this amounts to nothing for BWC's sake!)

thats Bama.  Very unlikely we hold up against Bama's Oline without him.  I hope he works out for himself.  Lets not throw him under the bus yet.  Let it play out in court first.

The fact that he hasn't been kicked off the team is good news.  But that being said, this news is very alarming and dissappointing heading into a year with such high expectations.  We've been rooting for BWC to live up to his potential for years.

And this crap always happens at the position we're the thinnest at.  Ef Murphy.

Remember, we're not that train track bridge guy formerly from that school down south.  We are MICHIGAN furgodsakes.  Hoke et al  will do the right thing.

doesn't mean it happened. Also, don't get too wrapped up in the "felony" aspect of it. If he, for example, keyed a car, and did more than $1000 damage (which is easy to do with a paint job, one blemish means repainting entire panels, then the panels may not match, so the whole side needs resprayed, then the hood doesn't blend, etc., etc., next thing you know its a $2500 paint job). Keying a car is stupid and the act of a moron, but it is also nowhere near as bad as having a key (of coke) in your car.

Innocent until proven guilty. Often times larger charges are applied at first for various reasosns, even if the prosecutors know there is no way they will stick. Felony charges sound good in the headline. I ask anyone whose reaction is to freak out to take a deep breath first, please.

I'm sure the Coaches will have a discussion with, and some lessons for young Mr. Campbell, guilty or innocent. Hopefully, he learns to either not do stupid things, or at the very least not be present when other people are doing stupid things. If he is required to miss any time, I hope he reflects upon how his mistakes have let his teammates down.

I'm just a fan, doesn't matter if my favored team may suffer from the consequences, teaching this young man a lesson and helping him grow up is more important than winning a football game.

My birthday is June 14th (the date of his next court appearance) and all I want is dropped charges! After reading the article and judging the tone of his lawyer it doesn't seem very serious. This could be something that only requires some stadium steps in the end.
