WBB Hello: 2020 G/W Makailah Griggs-Zeigler
First Team New Jersey All-State Guard Michelle Sidor of Saddle River Day School also has committed to Michigan for 2019. She will continue the New Jersey pipeline to Ann Arbor that Michigan Basketball’s all-time leading scorer, Katelynn Flaherty (who finished her career with 2,776 points) has helped to build.
Welcome Michelle and Makailah! You've made a great choice.

I'm intrigued by the hyphenated last name. She is in high school, after all.
So are all the football players we've recruited with hyphenated last names. I'm curious as to how you think those happen. I'd assume her parents either aren't married or both kept their names.
No, no. Hyphenated last names are unequivically not possible for a high school student to have. This must mean she's masquerading as an age-eligibile amateur, but in reality she's 27, has 3 children and is just trying to realize her dream of playing in the WNBA.
They don't just go away.
Which means that at some point, if a person with a hyphenated name has a a kid with another person with a hyphenated name, their kids could have quadruple hyphenated names. You know, if they're evil enough to saddle them with that.
name. They weren't sure about handling names for the next generation except that they wouldn't add more hyphens. The two brothers ended up dropping half of their last name, but different halves.

I'm curious. It's possible she's married but unlikely. Hyphenated last names aren't always passed down to kids. Maybe one day someone will ask her and we'll all know, then.
Were you as intrigued with him?
