TWIS is up
TWIS is now posted. We feature in there, however Northwestern gets the tears of unfathomable sadness and the lead of the post after their Hail Mary loss. Enjoy the schadenfreude!

I can't be in it this time because I was at a shitty fall wedding during game time.
Thank you, shitty fall wedding.

that made me miss the fourth quarter of M-MSU.
Turned out it was the pleasurable alternative on the day.

This explains my Saturday as well.

Probably because weddings are scheduled further in advance than the football schedule.
Now if you want to argue that there should be no such thing as weddings on a fall Saturday....yes. But I would suggest that this game was pretty late in the year for U-M/MSU and people might've figured they'd be OK.

Who schedules their wedding 7 years in advance?
That's a hell of an engagement.
November 6th, 2013 at 4:31 PM ^
I was also saved by a 6 p.m. wedding that caused me to miss most of the second half.

You know it's bad when Northwestern fans are looking forward to basketball season
November 6th, 2013 at 9:38 AM ^
even think that was possible, given how bad their hoops squad is. Things have definitely cratered in Evanston this year. Lets just hope they still suck on the 16th.
November 6th, 2013 at 9:54 AM ^
You know they come in here and put up 38pts and we'll struggle to get 21. That's not negativity from this last week, that's just how it goes.
November 6th, 2013 at 12:58 PM ^
That's not how it goes for Northwestern.
What is more likely to happen is that NW will have a big lead and we'll miraculously come back and win on a flukish play.
November 6th, 2013 at 2:55 PM ^
because we'll be going there. The game in in Evanston and I'll be there.
Speaking of which, I've got 2 extra tickets for it for sale, I'll be adding them to the ticket sticky later tonight, but if anyone is interested they can hit me on Twitter about them. They aren't next to me so you won't have to put up with me at the game.

2009 - 20 points (MSU win)
2010 - 17 points (MSU win)
2011 - 14 points (MSU win)
2012 - 12 points (UM win)
2013 - 6 points (MSU win)

So we put up 21 with Steve Threet? Mannn.

You misspelled "extremely."
November 6th, 2013 at 10:07 AM ^
And this:
Since college football is nothing but a money whore
Why not go out and get the best coach possible and pay him a ludicrous amount of money?
Brock Sampson: Well we're halfway there
November 6th, 2013 at 10:40 AM ^
That was clever.
November 6th, 2013 at 11:05 AM ^
Northwestern is on pace to have a breakthrough game against... Michigan. Sigh.

I think the virgin we sacrificed in 2000 for all those miracle wins
Has come back from the grave for blood revenge
On the positive side
Plenty of virgins around Northwestern for additional sacrifices

They also beat Minnesota that year on a Hail Mary that was almost a carbon copy of the Nebraska one.

"Bo Pelini's face looks like the product of a sculpting 101 student."
...and it did after the Hail Mary as well. Pelini ran the entire gamut of emotions from A to B, just not on his face apparently.
This was classic too:
"Maybe being a Northwestern fan means you pay off karma at a highly accelerated rate."

I feel so honored and privileged! I now know what it takes to make the TWIS cut.
Up next week: astronauts.

Psychology students: Why is other people's misery so humorous? Discuss.
November 6th, 2013 at 2:46 PM ^
I think we should have won TUS. Northwestern's loss was a dagger to the heart continuing a series of losses while our loss was a Robocop-esque annihilation that cost us the division, most of our superiority complex, and any optimism about our offense. (I'm referring to what happened to Alex Murphy.)

I like it.

I wonder if CE Bell not being able to drink all the bourbon in his house because his in-laws were over meant that his in-laws drank it all.
