really people...god forbid a 18 yr old kid has a little swagger and cockiness about himself. were talking about a kid who made a huge jumps in rankings by working hard. It's 2012 and this is how kids are these days....hey to tell my fellow old folk but this is all part of the game.

Can't imagine how quickly the staff is going to sit this kid down and teach him a lesson about shutting up with the media. Sad, because he's a dynamic speaker like Kalis.

Not to be too picky, but Dave Dye took the quote from the WTKA Signing Day broadcast, so the credit should go to Sam Webb.

We need to be ready to smack OSU in the mouth, Do you think they respected us while Tressel was whoopin on us all those years? Its good to have players who want to smash them in the face because I guarantee you that Urban is preaching the same rhetoric to his guys. With all due respect, Lloyd Carr is not the coach (nice guy) anymore. We need to promote guys that want to chew the nuts off of Ohio State.

That last 5* we had at DT?  The point being, I'd rather wait and see before I start prognosticating and then feeling all butt-hurt when he's not OMG AMAZING!

If he turns out to be amazing, awesome.  But why count chickens before they hatch? (I understnad enthusiasm--have it.  But don't complain later if he doesn't live up to this "all-world" hype.)

I love the passion and strength that Pipkins will bring to Michigan.  He seems like a very "walk the walk" kind of player.  As long as he brings that big mouth of his and big body to the games and performs consistently....talk away my friend.

Love PeeWee but not a fan of this.  There's a lot of contradictions in this.  He's says Ohio run their mouths and he doesn't give them the time of day but here we are...

I think he will be a great player.  He seems to be very driven and was personally driven to beat Schutt as some sites rated Schutt higher than Pipkens early on.

I hope he will back up his words and earn respect on the field.  And in the Shoe is a good place to do so!

Let's not compare him to Mike Hart.  I respect the hell out of him as a player, but not his mouth!

I loved Mike Hart for what he did on the field.  He was one of the greatest backs we've ever had!

As for Ondre Pipkens, it seems as though, based on the videos I've seen (both with his play and his words), that he has the tools to be a great player.  But he hasn't played a down.  I hope he is a monster for UM in the future.

still unclear.  when you said you respect "him" as a player, but not his mouth, were you referring to hart or pipkins?  If the former, you don't answer the question.  if the latter, you need to learn subject-verb agreement.

With all that talk he's going to have a big target on his back.  I'm confident he'll be able to back up his smack talk though.  I would prefer he talked smack after he's actually had some success at the college level but w/e.

I'll be honest.  Between Kalis and Pee Wee they're going to tape this stuff to the wall, and we have to go into that hell hole.  I have no problem with confidence, but respect your opponent.

I say Amen brother, I seriously doubt he has any trouble backing up his words, he will be starting by mid season, no offense to BWC. We need beasts without fear.

This guy is amazing. Anybody who imitates coach Hoke that well and quotes Bo on their twitter is alright in my book.

I'm fine with it.  He's setting the standard for himself - he knows he will need to back it up.  He's a player and knows that.  I'd rather he be confident than afraid.  We are expecting to come in right away and make a difference, and he is expecting that of himself too.

And if OSU needs some talk from a HS senior to get them fired up to play UM...well...they don't.

People liked David Molk precisely because he never did these sorts of interviews, right?

I'd LOVE to see Pipkins become a Quarterback-destroying monster.  I hope it happens.  But I really don't need stuff like this.

He's going overboard and I'm not a huge fan of talking smack like that before you've ever played a down... However, I'd rather a guy be "too enthusiastic" about beating Ohio and all that than not enough. It's a good problem to have, and I'm confident the coaching staff will guide him towards spending that energy on the field instead of yapping too much. He's already my favorite out of this class that's for sure.

I am slowly entering the "get off my lawn" group of alumni. I came to Michigan from out west based in part on the stellar academics, but also the brash confidence of the fab 5. For some reason, I like Pipkins attitude and swagger.

Is it weird to love an 18 year old kid this much?  I love the talk, now he knows he has to back it up and he will bust his ass even harder to make that so.

Problem is, nobody respects trashtalk from rookies/freshman. I love pipkins and realize he is our highest rated recruit in a long time, but do it on the field------then talk. Love the enthusiasm, though.

I don't think Ondre will say that much in the media after he gets on campus.  I'd rather players let their on field performance do the talking. If he works hard this offseason and listens to the coaches pee wee is going to be a show stopper.

that was my favorite part of the interviews (which were mostly all great, btw).

My 2nd favorite part might have been when Ondre then said Kalis got the better of him during the game and practice  I was impressed for all of his trash- talking, that it stopped with Kalis and he admitted he got beat.

Showed me he loves his teammates and that he talks trash with truth.  That's always the best kind of trash.
