LIU and Radford starting now. St. Bonny and UCLA have the late game. Let's get this tournament started.

The opposite of the best? I don't like them having 6 16 seeds and 6 11 seeds. If you are seeded 11th, you should not be punished by having to play an extra game. 12 is worse than 11. 13 is worse than 12. Eventually you get to 8 bad 16 seeds.
I also like the idea of giving those awful teams the play in game so that they have something to play for. Otherwise, they are just a sacrificial lamb. I don't like giving them an advantage over a real team that has to play the play in game. If they don't like it, drop down a division. Teams that are in the bottom 100 or so are not really the same caliber and should not be stealing NCAA tournament money from the schools that are earning the money.

It's also available on YouTube TV, unfortunately the price for subscription just went up to $40. They do have a one week free trial, might be useful for the week, and then cancel.

Having these teams in the tournament just doesn't make any sense.

A 16 seed has literally never won a tournament game.

Give me 4 more teams that would actually stand a chance to win a game in the round of 64

Nah man, they are winners of D1 conferences or conference tournaments. Unless you want to relegate their conferences to D2, they should get their chance.

I was just thinking about this, but with a different slant. If you earned an automatic bid you should not be in any of the 4 play in games. No chance in hell. You earned it to make the actual field. Only at large bids that were on the bubble should play these games

Not really possible to predefine the seeds for the play-in games like that. The amount of automatic qualifiers who would otherwise not make it varies every year, so your play-in game seeds would have to vary as well.

That being said, I agree with your point. Let the 16s in and make the bubble teams play the extra game.

This is my stance. I know people want to see better games and I agree with that, but this is the format and honestly part of what makes March fun and different. These guys earned their bid, let them play over the weekend. Let the Syracuses and Arizona States and Nebraskas of the world sweat and play these Tuesday night games. These teams had plenty of time to build a resume. If they can't build a strong enough one, the mid-major and majors who were the last 8 at-large bids should be playing for the last 4 spots.

how the most storied program in NCAA Division I college basketball history was selected to participate in a play in game. Either be good enough to start playing Thursday or Friday or stay home. Play in games should be for non-Power 5 programs.

Can you see John Wooden coaching in a play in game?
