Would like me to send you an email thanking you for the links?

Why should we have to install a new mobile browser to circumvent the problem? It was never an issue prior to last week or so.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:08 PM ^
I am fining this same issue on other site. I have a blocker for my Android phone and now for my iOS device. Thanks for sharing the links.

I've ever tried, if you run safari, it's way better than Adblock
December 18th, 2017 at 9:24 PM ^
Do you have issues browsing any other website? No.
Do you want to visit MGoBlog without intrusive ads? AdBlock.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:28 PM ^
Trying to help the site owners. If they were from a SQL injection everyone would be seeing them, all the time, so my guess is they are coming from Google Ads. I would locate the problem but havent seen them come up yet. If they are coming from an ad they can disable those ads in thier adsense control panel.

and haven't had a pop-up on desktop in at least two weeks.
Not running any ad blockers on MGoBlog on desktop, and just using the Safari on my ancient iPhone 5.
Running a real old OSX on my old Mac laptop using Chrome. Is my system so ancient that it's protecting me?
December 18th, 2017 at 11:56 PM ^
Cleared the Safari history & problem has been resolved 100% so far (for the past week or so). Probably just picked up some bad cookies somewhere.
December 19th, 2017 at 8:22 AM ^
This. Clear your cache and cookies and browsing history. Worked for me. It happens at other sites for me too. If I had to guess there is a malicious cookie that takes advantage of flaws in the code of this and similar websites to redirect your traffic.

I use the app Purify for Safari on iOS. It cost a few dollars - a one time fee - when I got it a few years ago. I set it up when I first got it, have never touched it since, and have NEVER had a problem on my iPhone, on any site, with stuff like this. I mean, not once. Well, well worth the $3-$5 I spent on it.
December 19th, 2017 at 3:11 PM ^
I am not real keen on IT stuff, but I don't think it's a pop-up. What I get is a re-direct that takes me from MGOBLOG to another website altogether. This is malware laid by bandits who it looks like are attemping some type of phishing thing (I am not getting random redirects to other website, which is a different type of scam altogether).

Block these ads, how will i know if the mature sexy singles that are only 2.5 miles away and want to chat?

Ill show myself out.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:10 PM ^
I do have adblock plus on my PCs, but I've browsed the site on my android phone and don't see the ads. I've had this phone for two years, so maybe it's too old to get spammed.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:17 PM ^
If you block all ads all of the time you won't ever have a problem
December 18th, 2017 at 10:18 PM ^
And am not using ad-blockers on either. What am I doing right so that I can keep doing it?

Not just MGoBlog - I have an iPhone and AdBlock.
AdBlock sets up a VPN that’s supposed to suppress the pop up ads, but it’s only marginally effective. I run the VPN, but still get them - albeit only about half as often.
December 19th, 2017 at 8:56 AM ^
I use the same thing on my iPhone and never get ads. Work uses Chrome with ad block by default. I also added the SetupVPN extension so I can browse anonymously.
December 19th, 2017 at 10:11 AM ^
It just works. No VPN necessary.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:19 PM ^
If you don't liike people installing ad blockers, choose a different aggregator. They probably won't pay as much because they aren't getting high rates from purveyors of malicious ads, but then losing impressions because of this will cost more in the long run.

Could you change the title from “Solution” to “Temporary Fix”? A “solution” would be stopping the malware ads from being able to advertise on this site. I want the guy in charge of ads to address this ASAP. Every time go to a different thread on the malware ad comes up.
December 19th, 2017 at 10:10 AM ^
Nothing on his twitter account addressing this/no posts lately on this subject. So, we take measures into our own hands.
December 18th, 2017 at 11:03 PM ^
I use purify app on IOS. I guess it costs 1.99 now but I downloaded it years ago when it was free, but it works so well I would be willing to pay the small costs for no headaches.
December 19th, 2017 at 6:22 AM ^
I have no clue what any of you are talking about. But then, I have AdBlock installed on everything I use. What exactly are you guys seeing?
December 19th, 2017 at 10:09 AM ^
The guy created it sold out to ad companies. Download uBlock Origin.

December 19th, 2017 at 8:12 AM ^
I mean, I've been deleting my cookies, the cookies the neighbors send over, cookies at work-I usually just use the term "Eating", but I understand deleting sounds more tech-savvy. Anyway, no matter how many I "Delete", I still get pop-up ads on my computer. Frankly, I don't see the connection, but I'm willing to keep "Deleting" if it will help.
December 19th, 2017 at 8:18 AM ^
All that being this case, this building deleted a shit ton of cookies yesterday, but they were delicious cookies, so I don't think anyone was complaining about the effort that it took to do it. Indeed, as of this morning, the building is virtually cookie-free and running quite quickly.

Not one pop up or issue using Firefox with Ad Block Plus a free add-on.
December 19th, 2017 at 8:30 AM ^
Safari is a pop up ad’s best friend. Firefox and Firefox Focus (which integrates a good ad blocker) is a good alternative to Safari in iOS. I haven’t tried Chrome on iOS, but that could be another.
December 19th, 2017 at 10:08 AM ^
Is the only browser I know of for iOS that has a built in ad blocker. You can download a blocker that integrates with Safari but I've found it's just easier to use Firefox Focus. Maybe Opera or some other browser has a built in add blocker for iOS, but I trust Mozilla/Firefox.
December 19th, 2017 at 11:11 AM ^
Downloaded Focus and deleted it minutes later. The look of the app is awful it does not support multiple tabs.
It did run really fast and showed the number of trackers blocked, which was great.
December 19th, 2017 at 1:10 PM ^
Is my new MGoBlog iOS app.
December 19th, 2017 at 2:24 PM ^
However, I also found that I could configure iOS Safari to use the content blockers found in Firefox Focus:
In iOS, go to:
Settings -> Safari -> Content Blockers -> Firefox Focus
(You need to have downloaded Focus, obviously).
December 19th, 2017 at 9:47 AM ^
no ads, no fear
December 19th, 2017 at 10:32 AM ^
Downloaded Firefox to my iPhone...using it solely for MGoBlog:
Blocked 10 items on the homepage.
Blocking 7 items per jump.
Wtf.
Welp...blocked 14 items visiting 11 warriors’ homepage and 27 items visiting rcmb’s homepage, so I guess it could be worse, but I feel utterly contaminated and completely violated now.

I only use my phone to access mgoblog when I am pooping, I never have any issues, maybe it is my corp firewall?
December 19th, 2017 at 2:26 PM ^
I am guessing, though I cannot say for sure, that many of you are Comcast subscrivers? I olny as because Im in OG with Spectrum (Time Warner)* and Im on Chrome, and have no issues with pop ups from my destop or my phone. I havent installed and additional software for blockers or anything and I dont get any
So Im just curious if your ISP might have something to do with it? I know there are visitors from all over, but there has to be some kind of link for those getting blasted lately, as Ive taken no extra steps to block ads, and IM not getting them
*I am definitely not "bragging" about my ISP, I hate them with the fire of 1000 suns. Just so no one gets the wrong idea. This is by no means suppsoed to be some kind of humblebrag
December 19th, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
I gave in. I downloaded Ka-Block! as someone referenced below (free on App Store). Does the job great!
December 20th, 2017 at 1:54 PM ^
I am running Chrome. I cannot just install any old software that I want on it, need admin rights. It's a damn scourge.
