That rule about midnight on Tuesday might end up lurking in the background.
It's bullshit I tell you!
I said, in a previous thread, that the regional must be complete by midnight Tuesday.
I was wrong about that, looking at the NCAA manual: they can not start a game after 11 pm on Monday, unless it is the "if necessary" game immediately following game 6. The amount of rain forecast for Lexington makes me wonder how close we are going to come to that deadline.
(Midnight Tuesday is the baseball rule; 11 pm Monday is the softball rule).

Will the game be televised?
It's on ESPN 3. We still can't figure out how to get a picture. We have sound, though.
century. they have a firm rule against that. very tough.
it. @ 1030 hrs went for 5 miles with oldest daughter, then mostly farm work until now. service tomorrow morning and family brunch. no work on sundays except in very rare circumstances.
Inspiring defense in the first two innings. No hits but four errors. Also six strikeouts for Beaubien
Woo! Double then RBI HR!!
Beaubien with eight Ks in four innings.
Am I the only one that can't find this on ESPN3? Please post a link if you're seeing it.
Thank you. The link is working but I still can't find it if I just open ESPN3 and look for it. Weird.
New pitcher for them, 4 pitches for a walk.
Ha! Wild pitch, runner on 3rd gets home. 5-0 U-M.
Wow, another wild pitch. Runner from 2nd gets to 3rd.
Hey, their pitcher threw a couple strikes, then Blanco got to full count, fouled a couple off before getting the walk. Runners on the corners,
And a new pitcher.
Line drive to short for 2nd out, but then another walk. Bases loaded.
HBP. 6-0 U-M.
UIC got out of inning with ground to short, force at 3rd.
U-M follows with 3 quick outs.
2-out bunt towards 3rd had 3rd baseman crashing in, pitcher got to it first, and runner on 1st got all the way to 3rd, as no one covered. But then 2 runners stranded with line drive to RF.
Schaefer in to pitch.
Schaefer sets down side in order.
Natalie Peters has gone two-for-two with a double and three runs scored leading off for the Wolverines. Tera Blanco's 2-run homer gave her 11 homers and 44 RBI on the season.
Griman flies to left to start the inning for UIC.
Schaefer strikes out final two batters. Combined no-hitter spoiled with a single to deep short with one out in the bottom of the seventh.
Meghan Beaubien pitched five innings of no-hit ball and struck out nine.
6-0 U-M. Schaefer gets a couple Ks.
Michigan wins, loses the no hitter in the bottom of the seventh though. Gets the UK/ND loser at noon tomorrow, I think.
I expect Schaefer to pitch a lot of innings next year. Who else is going to back up our #1 pitcher ? I don't think they have an elite pitcher in the freshman class next year.
Alex Storako was named to the MaxPreps Underclass All-America Softball Team after posting a 22-3 record with a 0.82 earned run average and 289 strikeouts as well as a .418 batting average and 35 RBI during her junior year. Not sure how she did as a senior, but she's one of the 5 incoming recruits. Sounds like she could be the next Tera Blanco.
