Jeff Brohm spends more time bitching than he does coaching, and his players are late hit aficionados. I'll be happy rooting against Purdue as long as he's there.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:48 PM ^
At least their dirty plays got called and ejected.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:44 PM ^
Scares me how much of a second half team we are. Hope we can get more consistent in the first otherwise I’m worried we’ll get in a hole that’s too deep to get out of in the second
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:46 PM ^
Point taken however being a second half team means you put how her the other guys. This is good.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:47 PM ^
*out coached
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:47 PM ^
Don Brown had their shit absolutely downloaded after halftime. The defense hasn't been scored on in the fourth quarter, which is incredibly impressive.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:48 PM ^
Agreed - I had the offense in mind more so than the defense
September 23rd, 2017 at 9:50 PM ^
And supremely well-coached. The monster three-man DL makes everyone else so much more able to perform. Really fun to watch.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:47 PM ^
Well hopefully with O'Korn in we will be more consistent in all quarters. There's a reason we were better in the second half than first this game.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:03 PM ^
we might have lost this game. O'Korn keep our defense off the field so they were very fresh in defensing Purdue. Any word on Speight?
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:04 PM ^
Listening to the Radio Brandstatter said Speight had returned to the stadium following an off site evaluation. For what it's worth.
September 24th, 2017 at 8:08 AM ^
better job in hot humid weather of coaching O'Korn than they do in cold, snowy, blustery weather.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
PSU was a second half team last year and won the B1G. Let's replicate that.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:19 PM ^
I'll pass on being anything like those pedophile enabling apologists.
September 23rd, 2017 at 10:30 PM ^
Eight year olds.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:58 PM ^
Part of today was simply execution, but I think a bigger part of today was second-half play-calling that kept Purdue's defense guessing. Really looks like the trust in O'Korn grew.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:08 PM ^
they let the ghost of Al Borges call the offensive plays in the first half. It was terrible
September 24th, 2017 at 12:38 AM ^
So Michigan's offensive line has struggled with run blocking and recognizing complex blitzes from the second level.
So let's keep running into 10 man boxes on first and second down and setting up 3rd and long.
The offensive play calling in the first half today (and at too many times against Cincinnati and Air Force) did the defense's job for it in exploiting its own weaknesses. Typically, good coaching seeks to offset execution weaknesses with play-calling designed to compensate for the deficiencies and we're spending far too much time watching the opposite.
Last year it was widely circulated that Drevno called most plays with Fisch and Harbaugh splitting about the other third. What is it now with Hamilton instead of Fisch? Still Drevno? Has Harbaugh assumed most of the play-calling duties with Drevno in the box?
September 24th, 2017 at 12:22 AM ^
I'd rather be a second half team than a first half team, just saying :)
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:44 PM ^
I just want to punch the Purdue DC as hard as I can. That is all.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:46 PM ^
Dude was roided out and raging.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
So much this
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:15 PM ^
Purdue DC told me I would be flying a cargo plane of rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong if I fucked up again
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:51 PM ^
Again killerseafood3, you are the person who was saying in the first half thread that Harbaugh is on the hot seat. Still feel that way?
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:01 PM ^
He's an MgoChicken Little.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:04 PM ^
Yeah, I still have a ton of concerns with the coaching. Let’s not kid ourselves, year 3 under Harbaugh is not going the way many of us expected. Everything falls on coaching, so let’s not act like a victory over an unranked Purdue team is cause to celebrate a successful season.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:06 PM ^
Until the 2nd half of this game it seemed like JH had been taking a season long inspiration from Brady Hoke.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:08 PM ^
Back to back 10 win seasons and 4-0 this year. Facts. The object is to win the game, not satisfy your lust for style points in doing so.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:14 PM ^
It’s ok to criticize Harbaugh, you realize that right? It’s ok, I’ll circle back when the team finishes with 4 loses and let’s see how well the board reacts to that.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
should be fired if they lost today. You're more reasonable than him.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
Sounds as if you are wishing we lose 4 games. Some fan you are.
September 24th, 2017 at 2:30 AM ^
Absolutely nothing about that post suggests he wants the team to lose 4 games. Honestly, this board sometimes... smh
September 23rd, 2017 at 9:41 PM ^
you suck very bad at your job , i can tell.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:12 PM ^
You did not say that, right? He's joking? And we lost 11 or something guys to the NFL. We knew this could be a reloading year. We knew that since before last year. Why are you just blindly throwing out "Harbaugh year 3, we should be an unstoppable force" With no context. We knew the last couple classes Hoke left us we're bare. We've known this.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:10 PM ^
The list of coaches as good or better than Harbaugh is small. 10? 12? All the people on that list who would take the Michigan job are listed below:
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:11 PM ^
May be, just may be, the coaches didn't have enough confidence in the young team? Come on. It is ok to celebrate and be positive. It is a road victory.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:12 PM ^
Come on man, if you're on the blog you know how sparse our team is on 5th years and seniors.
September 23rd, 2017 at 9:50 PM ^
Dumbest comment of the day ...
September 24th, 2017 at 8:35 AM ^
The dude evidently knows seafood according to him, but if you remember his posts, his football, indeed all sports, knowledge is dreadfully askew, and that is being polite.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:45 PM ^
but there are a lot of angry white men on that side line. Jeff Brohm just got a crash course in the ineptitude of Big Ten refs
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:45 PM ^
How could the coaches not have known Speight was broken (long before he got injured)? Does JOK just suck in practice?
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
He looked broken to me during those fall camp practice interviews, there were a few posted on here in August.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:00 PM ^
His INT during the spring game was, as I remember, the result of him feeling pressure. The coaches, which measns Harbaugh, I believe really wanted Speight to get back on the horse and rid himself of his injury demons. Apparently it wasn't to be. Good thing O'Korn really was better than his limited game time had shown.
September 23rd, 2017 at 9:54 PM ^
I mean JOK prior to today has kinda sucked in actual games. Glad he could have a great game and build some confidence (and get us a win, most importantly), but it's way too early to call on if the coaches picked the wrong guy to start.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:46 PM ^
That team was a pain in the ass.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:07 PM ^
Anyone wonder how throwing a clipboard over by yourself is a penalty but Brohms antics arent? Figure it out refs.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:46 PM ^
While the game plans haven't been great to start games it's clear we ID problems at half and make excellent adjustments on offense and defense. Don Brown will basically download your playbook at halftime and then you're basically done scoring. I love it
Also, where has OKorn been all season? Hard to imagine what the coaches were seeing in practice to start Speight over the guy we saw in OKorn today. Weird
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:50 PM ^
I really question the whole meritocracy thing given the situation at QB... It's like Harbaugh wants Speight to succeed to spite all the critics instead of actually making him earn the spot by having a legit QB battle through the season.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:54 PM ^
And people didn't like it. Thank you for bringing this back up.
