September 1st

We have to pick eachother up. Today sucked and all of our rivals winning bowl games make it worse. As hard as it is after that performance, we have to trust Harbaugh to get this shit figured out, he is not going anywhere and no one is rescuing us. He came here to make us elite again and i still believe he will. Let everyone celebrate and shit on us because thats all we can do as fans. On September 1st there is a reckoning coming. Go Blue!

I already had that 2 days ago when I pointed out that this team didn’t beat an opponent that finished the year above .500 this season. Purdue won their bowl game though and thus ended 7-6. Now I can say this team beat 1 team above .500 this past season.

Don’t be a fan later. Take your emotions out of it. He’s earned loads of trust throughout his whole career.

I’ll probably mostly stay off the board for a while as I can tell it will be toxic and full of emotional huffing and puffing and armchair quarterbacks. I’ll be following as close as I always do, but I can already tell that 70% of our fan base doesn’t have the equanimity to not have weekly melt downs and make profoundly irrational statements every week before Jim wins a title here. We will be great under Jim, probably next year. I hope all the doubters bring that same energy then.

Last year convinced me that JH not only can win big here, but will given enough time.  The team was a few bad breaks and injuries away from an undefeated season, against strong competetion.  This season has been underwhelming, but I do see a strong foundation in the players.  As far as the staff, I think all the defensive personnel have earned the right to stay.  The offensive staff... needs something, but I can't say what for certain.

I'm not convinced anymore. Great teams don't blow leads like that. We have consistently blown leads against good teams under Harbaugh. He has not had success against our rivals. He can still turn it around, but at this point it would be a turnaround. He hasn't accomplished anything here other than make headlines.

My heart wants to say "Harbaugh is our savior!  He will figure it out!".  But what objective evidence do we have to say that is the case.  If he can take this team and turn them into a team that  beats OSU and MSU next year he will have perofrmed a miracle.  Coach Harbaugh has earned criticism.  He needs to provide results next year or 2019 could / should be his last if nothign improves drastically. Currently, he doesn't seem to  be any better than Hoke.  By the results that is.

Hopefully he goes to the Bears. I've seen all that I've needed to see from Harbaugh.

I would take Bill O'Brien any day. He made a PSU team with sanctions look good, including winning at Iowa and Wisconsin. Something Harbaugh hasn't done in three years here. Hell... t's year 3 and we still don't have a god damn QB that can complete a pass downfield.

Heard Coach was livid at halftime, the funny thing is we were up by 6.. The message clealy went one ear out the other. Has to be the worst half i've seen Michigan play against a team who is inferior to them..

I feel like I see one of these every year for the past 8- 10 years. All that matters right now for this program is finding a Qb and fixing the darn line. Our line has been bad to so so for a decade now. I don't care if it's his son or friends he needs to make changes on that staff. I'm sick and tired of the next year will be it talk. Michigan shouldnt be outcoached by Mushamp ever.

Agreed.  This is what you expect from a freshman riddled team at the offensive positions.  We dont know how to keep big leads but that comes with experience.

They also returned 7 starters on d thus the massive improvement .....not defending today but msu was just as young but a lot more experienced that makes a huge difference.....Phil Steele is spot on with most of his projections there is a reason he understands experience is the most important thing in college ball. He said msu would be one of the most improved in the country and they were I also would be willing to be the has michigan on his list next year for most improved

@nd, @msu, and @osu are all losses.  Only a slappy would predict us to win those games.

Then @NW, Nebraska+Frost, PSU, and Wisconsin are going to be tough as well.  That doesn't even include IU who always seems to play us close.

We very well may struggle to get bowl eligible.

It's been the same garbage ever since Bo died and we lost to OSU in 2006. All the magic from this once great program is gone. I honestly believed Harbaugh would be our saviour, but after today I've lost all hope. He's wasted Don Brown and two very good defensive teams because he didn't have a QB. A spot on the team that everyone thought was his specialty.

Facebook is rife with the usual bullshit. The same comments and the same threads on MGoBlog. The same talk of next year. The usual heartbreaking disappointment. The excuses. The optimism. The despair.

Why must I do this year in and year out? I didn't know what I signed up for when I was 10 years old. I can't put this down like a bad drug though all it does to me is piss me off in the end.

Something HAS GOT TO FUCKING CHANGE. Either Harbaugh figures it out or I let my fandom fade, somehow, someway. Though I know it won't. It never will, even though sometimes I just wish it would.

I don't know, man. One year will be our year eventually. Right?
