OTish Reminder: Detroit City Football Club speaking panel at UM on Thursday night

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

Just wanted to post one reminder for tomorrow's Detroit City Football Club speaking panel. The panel is open to the UM Community and is at 6:30pm in the Anderson Room of the Michigan Union. Speakers include two of DCFC's owners (Sean Mann and Alex Wright), their General Manager Donovan Powell, one of the co-founders of the Northern Guard supporter group Ken Butcher and former UM and current DCFC soccer player Latif Alashe.

If you're a DCFC fan or soccer supporter it should be a good event where we will definitely touch on the future of the club and the future of pro soccer in the area.

You do know the team was put together in 2012 right?  Home games are played downtown at Cass Tech HS.  They have put several players onto MLS teams and have done very well in their league.  Six Wolverines are on the team this season.  Should be a good one.

Pretty much over the hipsters and their 2 bit knowledge of the game. I'm pretty excited about AFCA2 coming into the fold. Here's to a new found rivalry (possibly).

I gotta say I love the way they're growing. A couple years of success on the pitch, already outgrew Cass techs capacity. Their merch is really cool if you're interested in supporting. My 2 coffee cups, water bottle, and le rouge baseball tee only cost me $30, or so. http://detcityfcstore.com/
