OT: Tennessee now interviewing Jeff Brohm.
In what only can be described as the worst scenario possible for Purdue football, ESPN is stating that Tennessee and Brohm are in talks regarding their vacant head coaching position. If true, this is very unfortunate for Purdue fans after living through 4 years of crap. If this comes to fruition, I hope Purdue offers Bo Pelini, who is very similar in mentality and approach.

Horrible coach and horrible program
November 29th, 2017 at 11:13 AM ^
How exactly is Brohm a horrible coach?
November 29th, 2017 at 11:26 AM ^
He is an asshole who will maintain their tradition around the Fulmer Cup.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:30 AM ^
Yeah, but how is he a terrible coach?
November 29th, 2017 at 11:35 AM ^
As it relates to the coach of the University of Michigan, my expectation in what determines if they are a good coach is how they represent the University.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:55 AM ^
What behavioral issues has he let his players get away with? I have not heard of any.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:38 PM ^
Brohm isn't a terrible coach, but I think Tennesee is getting desperate. Isn't Hoke their O-line coach?. Just promote my man Hoke and get it over with. Fuck Tennesee and that fat fuck fulmer. Keep kicking there asses sec east.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:54 PM ^
D-line coach.
November 29th, 2017 at 2:41 PM ^
Interim Head Coach. Ba-dum-bum.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:17 AM ^
What? Sarcasm? Jeff Brohm is a fantastic coach and Tennessee is a very good job. It's a program with a lot of expectations, fans, and resources. They have excellent facilities. It's not a program that he could walk into and go to the SEC championship game, but it's a top 20 job in the country.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:07 AM ^
I was wondering when Brohm's name was going to start popping up for bigger jobs. Surprised it took this long for anyone to pursue him given how many jobs came open this year.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:19 AM ^
Scott Frost aside, it would be interesting for Nebraska to pursue Brohm. Although as shitty as Nebraska has been recently, that is probably not even a lateral move.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:37 PM ^
Joking?
November 29th, 2017 at 12:41 PM ^
What about the adhd dude at Minnesota ?. Is he annoying or do i just have very little tolerance for babbling hyper fucks?.
November 30th, 2017 at 10:42 AM ^
He's a store brand version of Harbaugh but instead of having that twinkle of insanity in his eyes that terrifies you, he has a twinkle of awkwardness that results in him sprinting to the other end of the field at the end of quarters in his personalized Nike's that he changes out each game.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:08 AM ^
That's a brutal blow for purdue if it come to fruition.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:50 PM ^
It's kind of a brutal blow even if it doesn't.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:10 AM ^
That would be my question...let's see - retread Defensive Coordinator with baggage or an up and coming young coach with an innovative offensive scheme and just turned a dumpster fire into a competitive team in 1 year?
November 29th, 2017 at 11:13 AM ^
Because Tennessee's AD already knew Schiano. It's who you know, not how good you are.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:14 AM ^
Bill Belichick was a retread defensive coordinator with some baggage.
Coach Rod was an up and coming young coach with an innovative offensive scheme.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:21 AM ^
To Bill fucking Belichick?
November 29th, 2017 at 11:29 AM ^
Hey the Patriots' dynasty was built on the backs of Rutgers players like Devin McCourty, Duron Harmon, and Logan Ryan. Without Greg Schiano there is no Bill Belichick.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:34 AM ^
You think those are the guys that built the Patriots dynasty? Those guys weren't even around for the first 4 Super Bowl appearances?
November 29th, 2017 at 11:42 AM ^
I'm sorry I thought that the sarcasm was obvious based on the fact that those are 3 players who got to New England after BB and Tom had already won a super bowl, and that 1 of them is no longer on the team. I'm a Pats fan, I would not suggest that Belichick's success is connected to Greg Schiano haha.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:52 AM ^
Yeah, the sarcasm was definitely obvious. You're good, Doc.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:31 PM ^
Holy shit he was being sarcastic and I upvoted him because it was funny. Who upvoted you as they are lost also.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:50 PM ^
DMT is generally a good and rational poster...
November 29th, 2017 at 11:35 AM ^
I will give you mccourty, but let's not go to the extreme and say Ryan and Harmon were building blocks of the Pats dynasty...I do get your point nonetheless.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:44 AM ^
Twas but a joke. McCourty has been a foundational player for the Pats D, but Harmon is just fine and Ryan is not even in New England anymore. Just playin.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:40 AM ^
Dr. Mantis. You are a world class shit disturber.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:30 AM ^
as the argument. In that case, I will draft every 6th round QB draft pick in my fantasy league and every 2 star at CMU will end up as an All-Pro in the NFL.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:45 PM ^
...to a soundbite that didn't bother to make an argument at all.
November 29th, 2017 at 1:03 PM ^
I mean, some 6th round QBs will be good and so will some 2-star CMU running backs. The only person speaking in absolutes here is you.
November 29th, 2017 at 1:13 PM ^
Anyone else geeked up for Star Wars in a couple of weeks!
November 29th, 2017 at 2:50 PM ^
I never liked Star Wars, partially because George Lucas can write lines like that.
The statement itself is an absolute, and it makes the Jedi sound like morons.
November 29th, 2017 at 2:52 PM ^
While I don't disagree with anything you wrote, I love going to see those movies. For a couple of hours I feel like I am 9 years old again!
November 29th, 2017 at 3:00 PM ^
It’s ok. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a joyless, know it all, insufferable, asshole, snob.
I realize Star Wars is something special, I just can’t understand why.
November 29th, 2017 at 3:34 PM ^
But seriously, we all have that in us sometimes - the key is to resist the "joyless" instincts and enjoy life. I get down when I think too much about politics, domestic / global issues, social media (exposing that 30% of the population is mentally ill / unstable), etc......
But life is too short for negativity. Got to enjoy it the best you can. That is why I love me some Michigan football and will always be excited for the next game, next season, next QB, etc... Hell, I am even excited about the LIons - hoping they can make the playoffs this year.
My favorite thing in the world right is flying up to AA and going to the Big House with my son.

I often take candy from the mouths of children.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:33 AM ^
He didn't try. He succeeded. Using RR as the other side of the argument was just icing on the cake.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:39 AM ^
then Urban Myer getting hired at Florida and Mike Riley at Nebaska.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:17 PM ^
I’m not trying to prove a case. I’m trying to highlight the idea that comparing two categories of coaches as if one is self-evidently better than the other is stupid.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:20 PM ^
comment.
However, looking at these two individuals, I go back to my initial question of how in the f&ck do you pick Schiano over Brohm?
November 29th, 2017 at 12:28 PM ^
Fuck if I know. I wouldn’t pick Schiano over anyone.
And this isn’t just at you, but did anyone actually think I was comparing Schiano to Belichick or trying to make a case for retread defensive coordinators over young offensive innovators? Come on guys. Snark works best when you fisk someone’s actual arguments.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:44 PM ^
I knew exactly what you meant. I was amazed people actually thought you were advocating for Schiano.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:47 PM ^
I thought it was going to be the lead-in to the next great Hollywood romantic gay comedy. "He's a retread defensive coordinator with some baggage. He's an up-and-comer with an exciting offensive scheme. Together they make sweet music on the football field--and in the bedroom. But can this odd couple take Rocky Top to new heights? Or will they each find they volunteered for too much?"
November 29th, 2017 at 12:52 PM ^
Somebody call Harvey Weinstein (too soon???)
November 29th, 2017 at 2:55 PM ^
Well done! I'm in as well. looking forward to the episode with the design of the "Will and Grace" double reverse.
November 29th, 2017 at 1:36 PM ^
Pete Carroll was a retread, too.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
Brohms team faded big time. I guess the chair throwing thing only works so much. I do not see anyone other than Wisconsin or Iowa winning the west for a very long time.
