OT--The Ringer article on Mo Bamba
Great long-form piece about Mo Bamba's NBA draft prep over at the Ringer: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/5/10/17337970/mo-bamba-nba-draft-lot…
Interesting bits on Greer Love, the Michigan MBA who is sort of his manager/butler/best friend.
The only Mo I care about is Mo Hurst.
“ “ “ “ is Mo Money!
comes with mo problems
Isn't there another Mo? I can't remember...
You are correct! My sincere apologizes to Mr. Wagner
Shame on you!! You need to come up with Mo Ways to apologize!
To hell with Mo. Just bring back Bo!!
I'll let the tall MO dunk on me and let him yell in my face after doing so.
Remember me?
I feel like we are just going through the Mo-toins.
I really hope they get rid of the “one and done”. It would benefit everyone involved. If a dude is good enough, let him play in the NBA after High School. College fans can know their team better as well. The 3 year model the NFL does is perfect imo.
Since they don't accept any players less than 3 years removed from HS, let alone straight out of it. With the relative non-existence of foreign leagues, the only viable path to the NFL is to spend 3+ years in CFB,
In basketball, if the rule was either 3 years in college or straight to the pros, why would any high level prospect go to school? The number of HS seniors who think they will be one and dones is a lot higher than those that actually go that route. That's ignoring those who might see themselves as two and dones. The G-league or foreign leagues look an awful lot better when the alternative is waiting 3 years to draw a paycheck.
at Texas did much for his skill development.
Thought that was an odd choice for Mamba. Shaka likes to run full court havoc press, which is not suited for 7 footers.
I don't recall seeing that havoc defense once. I wonder if it's going the way of Beilein's 1-3-1?
He hasn't ran it much at Texas. Especially this year.
He would mostly hang around underneath the basket and only shoot 3s when he would get the random opportunity to at Texas. This year's Michigan team would've been scary with Bamba at back up center and Beiliein definitely would've done more with him then just made him a lob target
The key phrase in your post is "...back up center..."! He wasn't spending a mandatory year between HS and the NBA sitting on the bench behind someone else.
Sorry guys but if Bamba was on this year's team we would have played Wagner at the 4. Wagner could do it on offense easily. Defense would be a little bit awkward but not much more than playing Duncan as a 4 on defense in the post. And you would substantially improve the overall defense by inserting Bamba instead of Duncan/Livers.
I think he's right, Bamba on this year's team would have been great.
Who?
Mike Jones
because he didn't want to get sued by The Three Stooges before he went Bye Bye with the Big Bopper and Buddy Holly....
