OT: The entire SEC tried to hire Hugh Freeze

Submitted by OwenGoBlue on

Five SEC schools approached Southern Coaching Caricature Hugh Freeze about jobs this offseason, including Bama, LSU and Mizzou, before being rebuffed by SEC commish Greg Sankey. The conference has a one-year-old rule requiring the commissioner's approval for hiring coaches with a major infraction on their record.

I'll speculate Hugh does a year or two of G5 penance/high school networking then jumps right back into the league.

[Ed-Ace: Somehow this turned political and personal because of a couple posters who are now on notice and have fewer points than they did before. The OP wasn't the problem, and while the first response opened up the politics conversation, the worst part was the belittling, mischaracterizing response to those with opposing viewpoints. (Yes, especially you, Brutus.) I have less and less tolerance for that BS with each passing day and accounts are going to start disappearing if it doesn't stop. Don't confuse this board for Twitter.]

I find it quite problematic that you specified "almond" milk latte. It's 2018 last I checked, and saying such a thing is quite insensitive to those with almond allergies, don't you think? Please try to be more sensitive in the future, as I'm literally shaking right now from your comment. I've never been so offended in my life.

Bama has spent a decade+ annihilating the conference. Of course schools in that area who are already doing increasingly nutty things to try to overcome the Bama advantage would kick the tires on him. He'd still be there if he hadn't messed with Houston Nutt.

Would've never thought that Greg 'Skanky' Sanky would be the adult voice in the room...  It's just hard - and sad - to see that dispicable person employed in CFB.

Even better, prostitutes in area codes not his one (supposedly one with a Metro Detroit number even). That requires some rather superior time budgeting skills and a very understanding family indeed. If you're Freeze, explaining your numerous recruiting visits to the Michigan & Wyoming area on the Dearborn / Detroit border must be very easy.

I can understand it. Freeze's database on recruiting, um, advisors, must be as extensive as any in the business. What SEC coach wouldn't want access?
