I mean, revenge against Ohio State hoops would help. After we've digested all of today's news, clearly we've all picked the wrong week - month, even - to quit smoking, drinking, amphetamines....sniffing glue. A win against the Buckeyes would help to reverse that trend, to allow us to do all those things but because we're ecstatic about something.

It’s great how you interact with members of this blog while doing an awesome job of modding. Brian is lucky to have you.

Do you know why Brian, Seth and Ace rarely interact in the message board? Always been curious on how they never interact with die hard fans.

How long does a contract with the devil last?  Seems like they've been going on a solid 15 years on theirs.  Tonight it's a banked-in three, bizarre Purdue mishandling of a rebound, and a ridiculous tipped-in layup that got them the win.

and MSU has the 14th most difficult conference schedule so it's not like OSU has an easier path than those two teams (although it'll be close after MSU and Purdue finally play each other this weekend).  I can't believe OSU could be atop the conference after that game.

The best teams will usually have schedules on the easier side because they don't have to play themselves.

won't be a kenpom boost.  There's an opponent adjustment there too such that it cancels out (makes our purdue outcomes look worse by exactly the same as it makes our OSU outcomes better).

The better our margin in the actual game against OSU, the better for our kenpom rank.  But a game between two teams that we play the same number of times doesn't help or hurt us no matter what the outcome.

Dakich with an offensive rebound before masterbates-diop tips in the game winner. Haas missed a jumper after a full court inbound pass with 3 secs left.

Probably good for getting excited when we play The university of Ohio state.

Purdue doesn't miss against us, meanwhile the only guy who could make a shot tonight for them was C. Edwards.  Not sure what we did to piss off the sports gods but we're really paying for it.

The most amazing part about this OSU team is the fact that Andrew freaking Dakich is getting key minutes and they're still winning. Looking like three straight years a Michigan grad transfer ends up on the Big Ten Champions.

but he'd almost certainly be the backup if he had stayed.

I don't think he'd have won us any games that we've lost, but if he were shooting anywhere near the 48 percent from three that he's currently shooting, we would love to stick in in a corner and either occupy a defender or hit open threes for 5 min a game.  He'd also be an upgrade over Brooks (who also can't make FTs) or Simmons (can't not turn it over) as a late game FT shooting option.

There is value to a guy that you can stick in the corner and occupy a defender because your play makers can then go 4 on 4.  Fewer guys to help out.  That combined with with his efficient 119 Ortg when he does use possessions, means he's probably helping their offense and almost certainly not hurting it.
