Not sure if you're inferring this, but you don't lose maturity nor integrity by saying OSU is just at a different level than Michigan in every way regarding Football. Their Coaching, recruiting and results have left us behind. OSU is a juggernaut I watch every game I can and root for Michigan to win every game, but I also don't stick my head in the sand and say delusional things about Michigan footballl just so my feelings won't get hurt. "The Game" is no longer The Game. It is not a rivalry anymore and hasn't been for 15 years. No one outside of Michigan believes it is the greatest rivalry in sports. 15 years ago it was, not anymore. Carolina and Duke bball, Auburn Alabama, heck...Arsenal and Tottenham are a bigger rivalry. And that fact is ok. A true fan is one who roots for the team warts and all. There have been lots of warts lately, but true fans don't give up, nor do they live in "pretend world" and live in the past that is long long gone. I root for the Michigan of today, which hasn't been easy, but I love my team so I root on and hope someday there will be a turning point and the results on the field match the love I have for Michigan.

Occam is spot on regarding most of this takes, even though they aren't popular, there still true. I think what we're seeing is a Michigan fan base, for the first time in its history, swallowing the jagged pill of realizing they aren't a college powerhouse anymore . Furthermore, looking at the recruiting that Ohio State is doing, and more importantly the results on the field that they produce, it looks like we will be stuck in this place for quite a while. I don't see how we overcome Ohio State anytime soon. Their coaching, their recruiting, and the results on the field have created a chasm that is much wider than any of us ever thought. The Ohio State football program doesn't seem to miss, and when they do miss, they get another recruit of equal or better talent. When we miss, there is either a far inferior recruit (at least rankings wise), or simply no recruit at all...i.e. OL and Patterson and NPF

Tampa 2, define "turn it around". I believe Michigan will get better. I believe we will improve as a team. Are we anywhere close to Ohio State as a program? No, we are not currently. It is gonna take a landmark win (like Clemson beating LSU in the bowl game 5 years ago I believe) to let these kids know Michigan can be "Michigan". Thus far, with 3 top rank d recruiting classes, we still haven't beaten our Rival and we have zero quarterback (unless the transfer of Patterson works out). We have to show on the field that we can be "Michigan". Harbaugh needs to stop "talking" and start showing us that we can be "Michigan".
