New Hampshire 2020 QB, "very high chance" of Signing With Michigan

Submitted by SkyPanther on

2020 signing day is a long way off. But New Hampshire QB, Parker McQuarrie (6'7", 210, 1st Team All State as a sophomore), is excited at the possibilty of playing for Jim Harbaugh.

From his twitter:

"Extremely blessed and excited to say that I have received a full scholarship to play football at the University of Michigan"

From Maize N Brew:

"I think there's a very high chance of me going there... Michigan was the first program to fully believe in me enough to offer me a scholarship..."

On Jim Harbaugh, "...he really likes my touch on the ball..."

Of course, 2020 is a long way off. Other QBs will be offered. He is solidly for Michigan now, and is very excited about being coached by Jim Harbaugh. But...... so was Kevin Doyle.

I enjoy that one of the first throws in his film is a throw that caromed off his receiver's hands over the middle in the redzone. It basically says "look at this great fucking throw and look at my shitty receiver - this throw was so nice that it doesn't even matter that it wasn't caught, it's going in the highlights."

New Hampshire High School football: what if we built the whole team out of Julian Edelmans?

Saw this in the Concord Monitor this morning--wondered if it was real.

John Stark isn't even in the highest division of NH schools. That's reserved for the "big boys"--you know, Nashua, Exeter, Keene, Merrimack, etc.

(Not implying anything about the kid. But I have to think it's pretty rare for John Stark to send a kid to a high-level DI school. Then again, Duncan Robinson is a NH kid too so who knows!)

young man looks to have good throwing motion. puts some zip on em when he needs to and has some touch as well. hoping he hits the camps so he can go against some elite talent. see how he handles that. very interested to follow his development.

We're getting a lot of players from the NE. I wonder if we'll soon have about 1/3 of the team (including Don Brown) with some variant of a NE accent. Would be cool.

If he is anything like Mallett during his time in Arkansas, then sign him up NOW! And if he doesn't make it as a QB, he knows he has the chance to make it as a TE at Michigan.

I can imagine he will be 1 inch taller and about 25 pounds heavier by the time he gets to college. He will be pursued by more teams by 2020 with that kind of size. I am very reserved getting my hopes up about him. I was happy about Kevin Doyle. But now he's with Kevin Sumlin at Arizona. I really hope Joe Milton turns out to be better than Doyle though... I hope. But anyway, I don't want to get hopes up on a QB who is in the 2020 class. Jim Harbaugh wants Harrison Bailey. This kid is expendable if he gets him.

But he had more time to throw on that first play of his 2017 mashup than Michigan quarterbacks get cumulatively over the course of an entire game. Better get used to a quicker set, read, and throw, kid.

Been watching a lot of 2020 QB film lately and his is one that is sneaky good. We are in a very good spot with some very good QB’s in that class so it’s going to be interesting to see who they sign. Also, on another note harrison Bailey is currently favored to us In Crystal balls and is making a trip up here soon. Like I said before, interesting!

Being a big fan of John Irving, I used to see high school sports in New Hampshire as Robin Williams courting the daughter of the local wrestling coach at a private prep school. After living in New Hampshire for several years, my impression did not change. This is not an area that takes high school football seriously (though not as not-seriously as Vermont, which did not produce a single scholarship player active on any I-A college football roster in 2017). That doesn't mean the kid isn't good, though. I'm not questioning Harbaugh's perception here. Just that he will have quite an adjustment to make if he wants to go from New Hampshire football to I-A college football.

First of all, a 6'6" sophomore QB is always nice. But the most intriguing things are his touch on the ball and his vision and anticipation. He's clearly very raw still given his footwork, and some time in the weight room would do him some good, but then again he is still a sophomore. Not sure the competition level of NH, but this kid could definitely be a diamond in the rough
