From what I remember.  Grant Perry was charged with basically an unconsented touch.. I'm not excusing it, keep your hands to yourself however we don't know what the facts are in this situation.  If it's drugs the kid will have a different path to follow, to earn back a place on the team.

Because Grant Perry is a productive player, he's a good kid who just made a drunken error in judgement. Forget about the way he touched that defenseless girl; he's really good at creating separation. Nate Johnson, on the other hand, barely plays, so if he did something wrong, it's probably because he doesn't have what it takes to be a Michigan Man and should be booted off the team permanently.

from what I read about the Perry incident, I would hardly characterize him as a sexual predator.....that would seens a bit on the sensational side. Dumb? Yes. Insensitive/aggressive? Yes. Misogynistic? Yes. Sexual predator? Hmmmmm...no. Sorry, it doesn't quite reach the level of predator.

agreed, it doesnt pay to sensationalize...language should matter.

i tried reading to the bottom but didnt see anything even remotely concrete...anyone have insight into the type of issue johnson now faces?

regardless, i certainly appreciate the staff trying to maintain a respectable program (which is easier said than done with 100+ student-athletes at various stages of maturation coupled with mandate and desire to produce - tough to always find appropriate balance)  and theyve shown decent judgement to date so well see what happens

In fact the judge said as much - it was a stupid and arrogant incident for Perry, but it was not sexual in nature. The accuser stated a bunch of BS that non of the dozens of witnesses corroborated. He needs to stay away from alcohol, bars and EL . . .for several years.

LS&A class of 1995.

We had a strict "no evidence" policy at my house - all cameras were forbidden.  Those foolish enough to bring one had theirs deposited in a lockbox in a housemate's room.  One of my friends was the daughter of an ambassador, and had political aspirations, which made for a convenient excuse for why.  This being Ann Arbor, there were, of course, other reasons.

I cannot fathom how we would have dealt with camera phones and the selfie generation.

It is literally insanely stupid what kids will post these days.  Know a teacher that had her class basically live blog their underage teen kegger.  The kids were shocked when they got in monday and pretty much everyone was put on probation.
