Most exciting aspect of UMass game?

Submitted by Promote RichRod on

What are you most excited to see this Saturday?  For me, it's:

  1. Devin playing for an extended period of time.  It will be very interesting to see how his skill-set compares to Denard's.  I also want to see him run the ball as a bigger dood.
  2. Watching our RBs annihilate everything.  We are going to put up a lot of yardage on the ground and I am looking forward to seeing the RBs get to share in the massacre.
  3. Watching Denard play.  I don't care if it's 2-3 series, he is exciting to watch no matter what he is doing.

Bonus: seeing how far Tate has progressed since last year.

Note: this is not a thread to say OMG OMG DON'T TEMPT FATE UMASS CAN BEAT US KNOCK ON WOOD.  Post your pointless concerns elsewhere.

OLD Maize-Blue, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Are you communicating in English?  I do not understand the use of "playes" and "hence" in your message.  I assume "playes" is a typo.  "Hence," on the other hand, is improperly used.  You could have used "(e.g. Mallet, Threat)" or something similar but the use of "hence" makes absolutely no sense.  Yostlovesme is dead on in his assessment - I am now dumber having read your post.

-1 to you, sir.

I don't think it's arrogant to view these games as warmups for the Big Ten schedule.  The chance to lose either of these games is slim to none.  The opportunity presents itself for many 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tier guys to get some extended reps in a real game (as long as the game is put away before halftime).

There's no doubt that more guys will get injured and have to miss time during the Big Ten games.  Hopefully the experience that some of the guys get in these next 2 games will get them more prepared with what to expect when they're put in a pressure situation during a Big Ten game.

Go Blue!

I will be looking for our D-backs to lock down the recievers, I would like to see them press at the line. I want to see our RBs run all over the place. I want to see a sack!!!

I don;t know about any of you, but I am most excited to watch a Michigan football game.  There are only going to be 13 (see what I did there) this year, so enjoy each one as the little drop of heaven that it is.

But besides that I look for a RB or RBs to step up, no busted assignments or poor angles out of the secondary. And when the game is in hand how the younger players perform. Specifically J. Black, Buck Christian, MRob and Lewan. And the most important, get through the game without any serious injuries.

The best part of this game will be seeing our team remain focused against a weaker opponent after two big wins.

If we come out and dominate from the first whistle, I will be very excited about the attitude and mentality of this team.

I'm looking forward to the following (no particular order):

1) Debut of Fitzgerald Touissant

2) Extended PT for both DG & Tate

3) 2010 Debut of Mike Cox

4) Meaningful game experience for Cullen Christian

5) Seeing if "next year's linebackers" have improved from last season (Fitzgerald, Demens, etc.)

6) Seeing Cam Gordon pick up deep coverage on a seam route, get position on the receiver, and make a perfect play on the ball for a STFU INT

7) A field goal (to give Gibbons some confidence)

two quarters.  This team is going to need Tate being game-ready and understanding what he can and must do when he plays.  I'd rather not see Gardner too much.  He is the future whereas DR and TF are the present.

Also, finding a go-to running back is huge to take some of the pressure of DR.

Working on the kicking game is paramount.  Gibbons or whoever needs to get consistent and confident.  I want to also see our kick/punt return game get right.  Our special teams have no identity and are no threat at all.

I'll take 63-0 and holding UMass under 200 yards total.

Tate needs to play at least a quarter and half if not two quarters. This team is going to need Tate being game-ready and understanding what he can and must do when he plays. I'd rather not see Gardner too much. He is the future whereas DR and TF are the present.
How is the guy who is currently listed at #2 on the depth chart, not part of the present? Please explain.

These are essentially the preseason games RR was saying he wanted, only with two big wins already in hand.  Doesn't get any better.  By games 5-6 we will be that much better and ready for the heart of the schedule.

im excited to see denard & the the rest of the team play in person for the first time this season. plus, i'm thinking i'll get to see denard break 1 or 2 for 50+ yards. after watching UFR clips/highlights, denard was a half step away from breaking it several times and that was against a good ND defense. me thinks umass will not fare so well

in the BIG HOUSE for this one.  UMass or whoever it is the BIG HOUSE!  i have not been there since the spring game.  i am anxious to see DR in person as the starter, fireworks on offense from those not named DRob.  Total dominance on the OL.  Better forward progression of our pass rush.  more gelling in communication for the secondary.  did i mention it will be awesome for startes to just be in the BIG HOUSE!   GO BLUE!

1. Taking a good friend to a great game at an amazing Staduim. (and it's bigger!)

2. Cooking Teriaki Steak bobs wth Fat Tire and Dogfish Head to wash them down.

3. Seeing my family (who just moved to Ann Arbor because my Mom just was added to the UM Faculty!)

4. Buying a #16 Jersey? At the UConn game they were all #5's and I was like, "Where are all the Shoelace jerseys?" The question is whether they move quickly enough to meet demand...

5.  Seeing Roh get 3 sacks, and Martin getting 1 sack and 2 TFL's

6. Mouton Rage! Screw Minor Rage, this guy will be a playmaker for an entire season...

7. Hearing the word "Heisman" legitimately in the Big House again.

8. Hagerup gets some decent punts in... wait... we won't need a punter for three weeks. Nevermind about this one.

9. The Victors - sing it, love it, live it.

10. Playing the cowbell I bought before the UConn game during quiet moments where the team could use some props.  Da da da - Da dadada-  Da da da DaDa --Go BLUE!

Could Tate RS this year then transfer to another school?

Did Rich maybe ask him to just stay on the team as a last resort?

If Kennedy gets playing time and Tate doesn't that would seal the deal in my mind.

I know this is my first post and most will not like what i'm saying, but think about it. Tate was so pissed after the first game and said he was done, then a team player the next. I read this board everyday, and have for a long time. Just never felt the need to post.

I hope I'm wrong. I felt the same way about Tate last year as I do Denard now, and think the kid is a hell of a player. Would hate to see him leave.

I just want to see some solid play on defense.  Swarming to the ball when they run and the secondary get some break ups with no plays causing me to face palm.  I also want a miraculous week of healing for Carvin's knee and Herron's ankle.

I would like to see "Moose" Ross kick a PAT.  In fact I would like whoever is kicking to not miss a single opportunity to put this issue to rest...and the ball well into the endzone on kickoffs.

I hope Hagerup gets on track, but not in this game plz.

Come on Moose!
