Michigan Monday has arrived

"Any time Michigan faces a team that cannot throw the ball, the ending is never in doubt. The only question is whether or not they’ll eventually get tired of toying with the mouse and just start eating it. On Saturday, it wasn’t a mouse, but it was still a rodent, and the Wolverine defense ate them whole — bones and all."

Ah, Michigan Monday... less than an hour from Wednesday! Still one of my weekly favorites.

My humble request for MOAR free content is a similar weekly in-season feature on Ohio State. I always laugh and imagine the wizards here could have some delightfully cutting comments.

What Does It All Mean?
It means that you can’t really learn much about Michigan from a game against Minnesota. Just like you can’t really learn much about Iowa from a game against Ohio State.

I loved how he kept referencing Iowa as a Championship caliber national power. Great snark!

[Minnesota's] back seven was frequently out of position. I’ve seen sharper angles from a hula hoop.

That guy is so flippin' funny. He should be a full time comedy writer. He got skillz.

Can someone who knows more about football than I do explain his comment about Peters and his long delivery? He may not have the fastest wind up, but watching his delivery with my untrained eye there doesn't seem to be a glaring deficiency. Gerdeman's writeup is the first I've heard it mentioned.
Hilarious article, as usual.

...first I've heard about a long delivery.
Seems ok to me, no issue.

A little part of him is probably sad when the Buckeyes beat us
November 8th, 2017 at 8:10 AM ^
Nah, he's just going for clicks. He knows that more Michigan fans read this than Ohio State fans do.
When it actually matters to him, he can get pretty snarky and dismissive of Michigan.

I'm sure what you shared was hilarious. But I can't tell because of the hieroglyphics you used.

Continually impressed at how good he is at understanding Michigan's strengths and weaknesses. I couldn't tell you anybody on OSU's defense past Bosa

But if you were paid to watch them every week...?
November 8th, 2017 at 12:49 PM ^
He's not running MGoBlog or 11W over there. Seems like this is probably a hobby for him

This was cold blooded:
Running back Chris Evans was even trucking dudes, which is all you need to know about the Gopher defense.
It was also pretty funny. My hope is that Evans is learning to get leverage on defenders, but the OZone take that it was mostly about the Gopher defense is the better bet. If I was game-planning for Michigan, I'd be looking to put Evans into space whenever possible (I'm a fan of Evans - just not so much between the tackles). That, however, wasn't necessary against the Gopher defense.

read. Appreciate Gerdeman's wit and perspective. Thanks.

Oct. 28 Michigan 35 – Rutgers 14 (6-2, 3-2) (Rivalry Game)
This was the best part from the whole article. That and the fact he only has this game as a rivalry game.

This was very solid.

Should just hire Gerdeman , and bill it as UFR lite!
November 8th, 2017 at 10:30 AM ^
His sarcstic jabs regarding his beloved buckeyes recent beat-down made me laugh my ass off. Appreciate a guy who can be a complete homer, but keep things in perspective to the extent this guy seems to.

The constant snark about Iowa crushing Ohio State was quite funny.

"The Hawkeyes eventually pulled it out 17-10 because that’s what championship-caliber teams do, but it was touch-and-go for a while".
November 8th, 2017 at 12:13 PM ^
He is no doubt, extremely, not happy about the Buckeye outing and the writing style just a little more terse as a result. It seemed to be more about Gophers, you SERIOUSLY SUCK and THIS is what Michigan is going to do when you seriously suck..
Also I have to look for a picture of that Fleck face he was referencing.
November 8th, 2017 at 1:16 PM ^
You know why Ohio State has done so well against Michigan in recent years? Because no matter how good they are or how bad Michigan is, they always take The Game seriously. They approach it as if Michigan is ranked #1 and Ohio State is the undedog. They did the opposite against Iowa, and it cost them dearly.
November 8th, 2017 at 2:49 PM ^
I don't know if they really took us seriously some of those years under RR/Hoke. I think they've just been the better team most of that time, aside from 2011 (when we were better) and 2016 (when the teams were closely matched).

but MSU certainly does. And it shows.
