Michigan Jordan 32 with M branding

Submitted by sansan on

Hi Guys.  I know WD posted that the Michigan Jordan 32's are releasing tomorrow(ninja edit release date is March 9th.)

The pics he had showed the Jordans in Michigan colors but didn't have any specific Michigan branding.

I really liked the ones that WD showed because they showed the nets being cut down inside the tongue, but these images show the public release I believe.  Makes more sense that we see the block M like previous Jordan releases.

Now with the Block M and Go Blue branding, I think I will try to pick up a pair.

The original ones WD posted.

As you have purchased some of these in the past I am curous about a few things.

Do you buy these just to collect them or do you actually wear them?

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I really have no idea if people purchase these to actually wear or just to collect. Also, I have wondered what their target age audience is for this gear.

Thanks.

I know you were directing this at another user, but I'll chip in.  I bought the Michigan 31s, and wear them regularly (probably my second most commonly worn sneakers), and almost always on game days. I'm 33.  I'm not a sneakerhead at all, I just thought they looked cool.  I'm sure there are plenty of people who buy just to collect, but I'm a firm believer in wearing my shoes.

them to Sporting events (especially when I am lucky enough to catch a Michigan game). I actually wear the AJ Trainers at the gym all of the time, they are great for working out and I have a couple of pairs...Michigan fans always compliment....everyone else thinks I have funny blue elephant print shoes in. I have some old OG Jordan’s, but since they are 20-30 years old, the materials are starting to show their age so I will wear those out now.

I know M wants their piece of the pie with the licensing or whatever -- but the regular ones are better -- everyone knows they are the michigan ones without huge Ms on them. The Big Ms look fine for wearing to games and stuff but not for regular wear.

Not sure why, but this thread raised a question in my head that I’m hoping someone here can answer. Do college and NBA players get custom made shoes? I’m talking more about fit than design. Seems like they could do 3-D modeling of each player’s foot to make shoes that perfectly fit the player’s foot length, width, and arch. Is this something that is done?

but I think college players do not. I'm not 100% on this but I always assumed that's why players don't all wear the same shoes.  Lebron's are custom built for Lebron's feet shape/arc etc. So I would imagine that all Lebron's use the same general template. I am slender, 6'1, 160 pounds soaking wet..I don't look good in the bulky shoes Lebron makes, but I fit better in Kobe's or Irvings shoes...and Iverson's being my same ht/wt always fit me well.

MDen.com still has the ones WD posted yesterday. I prefer the ones with the block M, just don't want to get my hopes up and then when I get there they aren't the shoe I was hoping for.

I’d wear them more often. Side note, I have a pair of the Trainer 2 Flyknits in a size 12. Only tried on once, too narrow for my feet. Sell them to you cheap (don’t be stupid though).
