It would be pretty interesting to see Michigan as a #5 comfortably in the tourney while the #4 seed Nebraska desperately needs to beat Michigan again to make sure they are even in the field. Per bracket matrix they are the next four out, and it's not like beating Illinois, PSU, and IU to close the year really helps your resume immensely.

the following teams in our vicinity lost yesterday:

23 Oklahoma (vs Texas)

21 Texas AM (@ Arkansas)

20 West Virginia (@ Kansas)

18 Tennessee (@ Georgia)

Today 19 Wichita is down early @ 5 Cincinnati.

Coupled with our win against 8 Ohio State, we are primed for a decent jump well into the teens, 15-17 is my guess.

In B1G news, Illinois vs Nebraska is going on right now and Penn State visits Purdue (-10 which seems high) this evening.  Hopefully Purdue can take PSU down a peg before we visit the Nittany Kitties Wednesday.

I'm not a Trae Young fan but the possibility of him getting hot for a weekend could be entertaining.  They are 2-8 in their last 10, lost 5 in a row and are @KU Monday.  It's not looking good considering their current trajectory, but they do have some nice wins from a couple months ago.

You've probably watched him more than I have (tuned in a couple of times to see what he was about, didn't watch long enough to get a good feel about whether or not I should be impressed), is this a case of teams figuring out how to play against him and his team, or just a downturn in play? My understanding is that Oklahoma is basically Young and some guys.

His shooting % has dipped while attempts have increased.  His scoring is still high but it's because he's taking 30 shots a game.  I'm not a scout so I can't say for sure how great the supporting cast is, but my guess is that if they were talented, he wouldn't be taking the vast majority of shots.

I bet if MAAR took 30 shots a game, he'd have a bunch of points but I doubt Michigan would win consistently playing that way.

Looks like literally the EXACT opposite of the football team...

In all seriousness though, this is a very encouraging record and shows the power this basketball team has. Time to keep those big game performances going for each game!
