Punt team needs work. Idont think the punter helped them out today. 1 punt return penalty isnt to bad. Hands team was terrible. Terribe formation on the recovery.

The punt block was fantastic.  Nordin was superb as always.

But onside kick coverage was nearly disastrous.

And it was poor punt coverage put Indiana back in the game.  Granted, Indiana has a great returner, but that punt coverage almost ended in tragedy . . . .

Foug was excellent too. Plus FG block. I also thought the point return was due to a missed block in the back on Bush. DPJ is too hesitant on punt returns. Just run forward and get what you can and if there's a crease, cut into it at full speed, not from a full stop.

If you're going to win on defense and special teams, you can't give up huge special teams plays. Should have been 20-10 game over, but gave up a huge return. Then the onside kick was trrrible. Great kick by Indiana kid though, text book.

I know that we moved to the spread punt because we seemed to have found a problem with the shield punt but it seems like not enough players release down field with the spread punt. Today we got burned with the long return but even when there isn't a big play, their return man seems one move away.

I haven't watched the replay yet, but on our second to last punt perhaps,  I think the clock was running and the punter kicked it with 14 seconds left on the play clock??? Also, O'Korn ran his last non-overtime plays with poor time mgmt. One time he called for snap with about 5 seconds left on clock.  That counts for 19 seconds if I am right, which would have really ended the game.

And again, our blocking on punt returns was terrible. Never any time to run before about 5 guys decend on PJ

Kickoffs

Kicking is fine, returning always has room for improvement. I still think Kekoa Crawford is too shakey and second-guessing to return. DPJ on everything would be my preference, but JH knows way more than a guy like me.

Punts

Robbins has got to lengthen his punts, his short punts all year have gotten more and more annoying. We need all the help we can get with field position, so this can be irritating.

Returning punts have been okay, however I do get those nerves about a fumble. DPJ just has room for improvement, and he has proved he is no Jabrill Peppers as far as punt return reliability goes. That doesn't mean he's bad though, just that we can't expect THAT out of him. Also, I can't wait until we finally get our hands on a punt, we keep getting inches away.

Field Goals

Wild Thing became crucial again against Indiana and he stepped up. Props to him for getting the job done! Also, the blocked field goal was fun! I hope that gives us leverage with confidence, so we can get some blocks with even more crucial FGs, and maybe even extra points.
