Good news: Ondre Pipkins "best freshman in camp"

Submitted by Blue boy johnson on

At least according to Kenny Demens, Ondre Pipkins is the best freshman in Camp. would be nice if Ondre can help against Alabama. Might as well break Pipkins in against the best if he's as good as advertised.

Not to poo poo the thread, but this is just according to Demens.  Roundtree said it was Darboh.  If you asked all the upperclassmen who the best freshman was, you might get 10 different answers, maybe more.

But it's a good thing that we're getting multiple answers, because it means more than one youngster is doing enough things to get people's attention.

I'm going to strongly disagree with your statement that you might as well break him in against the best.  Throwing a kid in against the national champion as his first taste of college game speed is a horrible idea.  Not really sure how much PT you mean by breaking him in, but I hope he gets a max of 10 snaps in the game.  Keep in mind that the best freshman is still just a freshman.

I'll wait for Hoke or Mattison to say something similar before I totally believe it.  I still think Pipkins is going to need to lose at least 20 pounds before he sees the field.

It must have been that 'special workout' that Hoke promised he would put Pipkins through when he saw the YouTube video of Pipkins' spot-on Brady Hoke impression.
