Congrats to Ferris State on their DII Basketball title! Close game coming down to the last shot. First ever national championship in any sport for the Bulldogs. They finished the season 38-1, tied for the most ever wins in NCAA DII history.

You’ve had a profile for 7 1/2 years. And the very first post you decide to comment on, is about Ferris State and a D2 title... 7 1/2 years on a Michigan sports blog. And your first comment is on something that has nothing to do with Michigan... Everything that’s gone on in the sports world and with Michigan athletics.... and your first comment is on a D2 basketball title... +1 for patience

I believe CBS said this was the first DII championship for any team from Michigan, but I'm not sure if they meant in basketball or in all sports.

but as an out-of-stater: wow, Ferris is having a nice run of athletics. They were in the hockey title game a few years ago, I recall their football team were somewhere around the DII title game a few times recently, and now a DII basketball title. Good times in Big Rapids

Lol you need to expand your horizons past the boring ass dorms when partying at Ferris. I miss all the house parties we had during my time in big crapids

I watched a Ferris State-Michigan Tech hoops game earlier this year.   It was a great game.  Ferris won in OT after draining a miracle 3 point shot with time expiring after a missed free throw attempt.

Ferris' squad was deep and athletic, so their post-season run is not surprising.   A well-deserved championship to a worthy team.

Their coach also sports an awesome beard.

Cool to see a championship where I spent so many years! While I was there the sports teams were awful. Kunitz was on the hockey team though so he was a blast to watch
