Jim is a good man who devoted 2 years to Michigan football. Dude put in a LOT of hours in those two years. Good luck, colonel.
save a motorist:
"Jim Harbaugh, University of Michigan, head football coach, and Jim Minick, University of Michigan, Athletic Staff, stopped and assisted with first-aid by assisting the partially ejected driver to exit the Jeep and by using coats to keep the injured passenger warm until EMS arrived," Michigan State Police said in a prepared statement.

Biff Poggi is also leaving as he is headed back to coach high school football in Maryland at St Francis Academy.
Down the street from us. Too bad they will not have the luxury of time to enjoy it. Good neighbors!
That's the sign of moving, you fix up a house before you sell
Best wishes to the guy. His DUI in 2015 is one of very few blemishes on the Harbaugh regime. I'm glad he made it through the next two years without any incidents.
Has got to be some sort of contracting gig with one of the big defense contractors. Not throwing shade, but once you retire you can't get a job, "in the military", as you're done for life.
He said headed back to the military. Take a Xanax.
of unretirement? And is it jusst protocol not to hire anyone who retires, or is it actually a rule? I honestly have no idea, would like to learn more.
No. You cannot undo a DD214 unless there's a draft and we are in some deeep shit.
No but you can go back in a contract capacity.
"Contract capacity" is not 'back in the military'. Being retired, he was most likely a reserve officer and may be heading back to that on a full time basis. Which, I believe, he can still do. But it would be as a reserve officer, and not a full line Colonel.
But, as has been stated, he cannot 'unretire'...
I was asked during Iraqi Freedom if I wanted back in. I chose to decline, being a Gulf War vet...enough of the sand and its fleas.
I was recalled to active duty after 9/11. Retirees can be recalled, unless they took early retirement. It can be voluntary or (rarely) involuntary. I think you can only be involuntarily recalled for either 12 or 24 mnths (can't remember which).
He was one of the first staff members of the Harbaugh regime. Seems so long ago now.
He was was Jiminy Cricket to Harbaugh's Pinocchio -- his closest confidant. Only difference: Harbaugh never lies.
But he still has a nose for talent.
I did enjoy Harbaugh song to the NCAA: "I've got no strings to hold me down..."
This beer is for you!
Better make that an O'Doul's.
Thank you Mr. Minick for all you work for this program. I am excited to see who fills all the opening that have popped up recently
It may have been slightly expedited by a second event. There may be a negative article that comes out this week or next. It's very minor and I am told it is BS. It happened out on I-94. Col Minick did want to create any negative publicity or distractions.
Dude has definitely had some unfortunate and unexpected traffic problems.
"Minick, per Harbaugh, opted to leave his position after two-plus years to take a job with the military." Link to MLive article http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2017/06/michigan_staffers_jim_minick_b.html
Ah. "Take a job with the miltary" does not mean returnng to the service. Thousands of civilians work for DoD.
JT Rogan will take some of Col Minick's duties.
