Does this mean Enos is going to be a QB coach, and Harbaugh is going to take a step back from that position group?

Otherwise, RB is the only other group that Enos has recent experience coaching, and it isn't that extensive.

Just not sure this hire moves the ticker that much, especially as a recruiter.

When he was on the msu staff he was very successful in Detroit. Since Wheatley left it feels like we haven't had a great presence in Detroit. If he can bring that back it would be a plus.

What exactly did Dantonio lose though? Enos went from being a RB coach at MSU to a HC at CMU. Sounds like a no-brainer promotion to me.

Probably a little worrisome to see Enos take a 12-2 CMU MAC Championship team to back-to-back 3-9 seasons, and an overall 26-36 record. Pretty much reversed all of the progress Brian Kelly and Butch Jones had made for CMU.

There have been a lot of information posted on why the team went from 12 to 3 wins. Mainly, they lost 4 NFL level players after 2009, including Antonio Brown (an NFL generational talent), best QB in CMU history, and two players that were contributors to the Green Bay SB team as rookies. No way a MAC team can sustain those losses without collapsing.

I’ve listened to Sam for a long time - if there’s one thing he does not like to discuss or comment on is coaching changes. He is going to protect the coaches that he deals with on day in day out basis until they are no longer on the staff.

Furthermore, I believe Pep is out. There’s enough smoke on various boards to suggest this is real. With regards to Drevno, it would not surprise me if he ends up leaving or remains as OL coach only. We are going to get a new OC - just need to be patient and let this play out.

With this hire, there is not one single reason that Pep Hamilton needs to be on the staff. It would be a complete duplication of responsibilities if both he and Enos were there.

but there is no logical scenario where all thee of Drevno, Hamilton and Enos stay on the staff together.  Harbaugh knows the MSU and bowl games provew is our offensive scheme needs massive over-hauling.

JH may be the final voice on the play-calling, but he needs some one or maybe two coaches to devise a game-plan week-to-week.  This year was a disaster, there was no identity, the only consistency was the lack of execution and the inability of the offense to sustain drives to either take a lead or cement away a game.

Major changes are necessary and he knows it.  Where it's scheme or personel.  Changes will come.
