Emil Ekiyor on the verge of decommitting

Submitted by Maizen on

Per the recruiting roundup from Sam this morning as well as an update on his board. Essentially confirms what guys like Wiltfong and Lorenz have been saying for weeks. He'll be at Bama next fall. Another big loss for OL recruiting.

No, if Alabama's known for anything, it's for kicking the shit out of everybody in America, being the dominant program in their era, mailing in SEC championships and being a mainstay in the College Football Playoff.  And their offense is averaging 43 points per game, good for 6th in the entire damn country right now while we f**k around and squander games like MSU and Iowa because we can't even scratch together two touchdowns.

You don't think Alabama is creative?  And that's why you would pick Michigan over Alabama?  Solely based on offensive creativity?

So what do you call running power behind 2 TEs into a mass of humanity for 2 yards per carry and passing for 58 yards against Indiana?  Does our offense look creative to you?  I can't imagine Ekiyor gives two shits about "creativity", but if he did, I can't name a less creative offense then ours right now.

how about stop talking about michigan in the same sentence as alabama. alabama is a machine, i can`t even see michigan ever being on that level. i am a graduate and lifetime fan, over 50 years. but really when has michigan ever been close to the level that alabama is right now?

By that logic, our entire class should decommit and go play FCS.

Check Najee Harris's stats.  Remember him?  Why would you go to Alabama and sit the bench?  He's already outgained Chris Evans on about half the carries.  And Harris is a class behind.

Good theory though.  Sounds good amongst ourselves, doesn't it?

Maybe he read this board & saw all the positivity, how so many are ready to fire Harbaugh & every coach he has talked to here.  Maybe we can go to a spread like they want & stop recruiting him anyway.  Oh, and then IF these geniuses here would get their way there would also be a turning over of the defensive coaches, who apparently based on one game suck & don't know how to coach.

If a kid is gonna let comments from keyboard warriors influence his decision then we don't want him.  It isn't like people are sending racist hate mail to the head coach when we criticize the OL development and play calling...

You seem to have a narcissistic view of yourself and commenters on this blog.

And if you think what is said about our OL and offensive strugges on mgoblog has a bigger role in this decommittment than say our actual OL and offensive struggles then you are a fool.

He is probably a troll given the 6 month old account and ~30 points.  The fact that he equates online bullying to mgobloggers griping about our offense is insane.  It isn't like posting something on mgoblog is a direct message over twitter or facebook to the players and coaching staff.   I mean damn, if somebody in print media or over at mlive criticizes the offense is that bullying too?  But I think Baughsome is probably just another hashtag activist who thinks everything he posts online makes a difference in the world.

I'm a bit hurt.  Not because you called me a "girl" or a "douche bag".  I'm a bit hurt that I gave you credit for being clever earlier, when you really were espousing a silly theory.

I mean, when someone writes something like "goated into a suicide" I automatically assume they're trying to be funny.  That they're giving a "tell" that they don't take their argument seriously, and are just joking around.

My bad.  In fairness, though, your argument reads much better as satire.

What I said was that if he is going to let total strangers who are commenting under internet anonymity change his mind then yeah I don't want him.  If he has two working eyeballs and can see where Michigan is and where Alabama is and decided to make a change that is totally fine.  I'm just not narcissistic enough to think that what I say about our current coaching and OL play is going to be a make or break situation for a recruit.

Now let's pretend like every football team doesn't have a fan blog where 50+% of the posters are morons who are constantly complaining about someone's inferior play or demanding that some coach or another be fired.

The program he committed to doing poorly?  The program has won 25 games since Harbaugh arrived.  How many power 5 programs can make that claim?  10-12?  The program is not doing poorly, most of the morons on the blog just have unrealistic expectations.  Get over yourselves, no one actually cares about your opinion anyway.

Harbaugh has the 10th highest winning % of active D1 coaches that have been head coaches for 10+ years.  That includes a guy who won almost all of his games at the D3 level.  That includes Chris Petersen who won most of his games at a Mid Major.  Factor that in with the fact that all 3 programs that Harbaugh took over were relative dumpster fires before his arrival and I would say that his track record is just short of spectacular.

You know the worst part of being a Michigan fan?  Dealing with you people.

(This wasn't targeted directly at you, sorry for the fact that you got to be my punching bag.)
