He's out for the 1st half vs UMD
November 5th, 2017 at 7:58 AM ^
no. thats only for targeting.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:07 AM ^
That's a wrap. End thread.
November 5th, 2017 at 12:28 PM ^
both result in missing remaining half + next half, with carryover to next game
November 5th, 2017 at 8:10 AM ^
Metellus will have to sit out the first half of next week’s game at Maryland.
November 5th, 2017 at 12:12 PM ^
for saying something inapproriate and not for fighting, which has anyone seen a shot of him throwing any punches? I only saw him get in the guys face and jawing at him. Ejections for verbal abuse don't result in missing an additional half.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:11 AM ^
NOOOOOOOOOOO
November 5th, 2017 at 10:32 AM ^
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! and maybe he’ll learn something - he’s the weak link in the D
November 5th, 2017 at 10:40 AM ^
Not only do I disagree with your statement, I question the rationale of seeming to cheer the weak link being out so that said weak link’s backup has to play instead.
November 5th, 2017 at 4:03 PM ^
In the nation's top defense. Would rather have that than the best player on the worst defense.
November 5th, 2017 at 10:47 AM ^
Te weak link is kinnel maaaaaan
November 5th, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
dunno have you seen Metellus try to cover or tackle?
November 5th, 2017 at 2:04 PM ^
although yesterday Kinnel played somewhat better...
I will withhold final judgement until the individuall ratings are posted.
Have you noticed nobody is challenging Hill much anymore!?...why take a chance I guess.
November 5th, 2017 at 1:48 PM ^
Oh here we go. You’d rather see the backup instead. Now we have a safety controversy. This is new.
November 5th, 2017 at 11:27 PM ^
Safety is the toughest position to play in Don Brown's aggressive defense. The safety is asked to help in run support playing in or near the box and to provide man coverage over the slot across the middle. It's not a traditional safety position where you just sit back and drop into coverage, and clean up the longer runs, it's extremely demanding. So I'm not sure that Metellus or Kinnel are weak links, rather that the safety position is generally vulnerable with such an aggressive scheme. Overall I'd say they are having a pretty good year considering their youth.
November 6th, 2017 at 12:12 AM ^
Yes, you are simultaneously a linebacker and a corner . . . and you are proabaly not built optimally for either one, or you'd already be playing those positions.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:12 AM ^
"fighting"
November 5th, 2017 at 8:18 AM ^
He can watch levert hill on how to properly cover so he stops getting burned
November 5th, 2017 at 8:41 AM ^
If it were that easy we’d all be out there locking people up
November 5th, 2017 at 2:01 PM ^
my eligibility ran out
November 5th, 2017 at 8:19 AM ^
Here's the suggested penalty if the fight is in the second half. This is right from the rulebook:
PENALTY—15 yards. For dead-ball fouls, 15 yards from the succeeding spot. Automatic first down for Team B fouls if not in conflict with other rules. Disqualification for the remainder of the game and the first half of the next game [S7, S27 or S38, and S47]. For fighting in the last game of a season, those with remaining eligibility shall serve suspensions during the first game of the next season for which they are eligible.
November 5th, 2017 at 10:35 AM ^
Did they actually toss him for fighting? Because he didn't throw a damn punch.
November 5th, 2017 at 12:55 PM ^
This is why i think he won't be suspended. If the B1G hoses us on this, something is really wrong.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:20 AM ^
I think the officiating crew should have to sit out the first half of the next game.
November 5th, 2017 at 11:53 AM ^
This is far too kind to those yahoos.
November 5th, 2017 at 12:05 PM ^
But then who will make all the terrible calls against us?
November 5th, 2017 at 8:23 AM ^
That officiating crew needs to be disbanded. Between them and the announcers I really could not enjoy the game. Like I said they are insecure and thin skinned. Metellus was ejected for walking up to a guy twice his size and getting his face mask yanked on. The scrum scared the officials and they wanted it over. You only get ejected for throwing punches or kicks, not for wrestling around and having bad language. Insecurity and bias are two things officials should not have, but these pukes reek of it. Wish they would have gotten the Nc State send off. Reminded me of a Iggy Pop concert down at that little club back in the early eighties. I know someone will be able to put the two together and figure out what I am talking about. Nc State send off and Iggy Pop concerts.

Tillman made me yearn for Millen
November 5th, 2017 at 11:39 AM ^
when he said Devin Bush was 6'2"
November 5th, 2017 at 1:57 PM ^
Seems like the folks at Fox that cover college football are the most uninformed people of any network. Between the game and Rob Stone and his crew in the studio, it was the worst performance I can remember from a network.
November 5th, 2017 at 1:59 PM ^
Is the play by play announcer has JUST talked about Bush being 5’11” and mentioned his weight and speed.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:31 PM ^
You are a sick individual. Nothing makes me yearn for Millen. Nothing.
November 5th, 2017 at 12:16 PM ^
for derogatory language, actually.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:28 AM ^
Khaleke says no prob, I got this.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:55 AM ^
That was a helluva game by that young man.
One man wrecking crew.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:29 AM ^
And this is a bit of a hot take...but I'm really not concerned. He's been exposed as a timid and ineffective tackler, and has been suspect in coverage as well. I'd like to see whoever is behind him get some playing time.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:46 AM ^
Well Glasgow came in for him after the ejection (yes, the same one that got torched vs Penn State a few times). Don’t get your hopes up for an improvement.
November 5th, 2017 at 9:54 AM ^
Seriously.
Glasgow's been visible when he missed a special teams tackle in the Orange Bowl and got torched in Happy Valley.
Though, give him credit for tackling Ohio State's punter last year.
After Glasgow the depth chart appears to be three freshmen...Hawkins, Kelly-Powell, and Woods.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:54 AM ^
Of course the guy behind him is better. Why else would Metellus be the starter?
November 5th, 2017 at 10:07 AM ^
jok still agrees with you
November 5th, 2017 at 11:17 AM ^
Yup. You’re right. All the backups are better than the starters.
November 5th, 2017 at 11:22 AM ^
Haha. This. ^^^^^^
November 5th, 2017 at 11:58 AM ^
Apparently I needed the /s. Thought it was obvious....
November 5th, 2017 at 9:15 AM ^
I can live with the occasional coverage error, I mean just watch every college football game yesterday. I don't get it when dudes are unwilling to tackle.
November 5th, 2017 at 9:21 AM ^
I think you undersell how hot this take is.
November 5th, 2017 at 9:30 AM ^
Glasgow
November 5th, 2017 at 12:40 PM ^
Aside from the tackling and sub par coverage, he's had a good year!
In reality I realize there's a reason that, despite his less than stellar performances, he's still been the starter every week. That probably points to deficiencies in the guys behind him more than anything else. I think a couple quarters will be a good opportunity to see how the guys behind him are coming along. Will need the depth in the long run anyway.
November 5th, 2017 at 8:37 AM ^
Ha, like that would ever happen!
November 5th, 2017 at 8:39 AM ^
Type of thread before and after every game to learn who is who and how they call games.
If enough accurate data is collected over time it would educate everyone on biases and trends. Then just maybe, over time the thread goes viral and those assholes look over their shoulder a bit and call a more fair game, which is all we ask for.
