Crowd fan % split / tickets for Monday

Submitted by MGoArchive on

For those of you who attended - what % of fans were there for Michigan? How about Villanova?

Tickets for Monday are already lower than they were for Saturday - Everyone in 500 miles of San Antonio needs to come down for the game!

In their 3 sections. Not much else. Certainly more Michigan scattered throughout the stadium. And with KU and Loyola dumping tickets right now, there will be plenty available for Michigan to take over. I will say Nova’s student section was much larger. Another interesting thing will be which student section will get moved to the other end of the court opposite of the teams ‘core’ section. Both Michigan and Nova’s core section are on the same end of the court.

If anything that should hurt attendance as they likely had plans for something else. If you are willing to miss a monday class going when you are in school is easy. Did it in 2013 and made it back for an afternoon presentation on Tuesday/. We just have a mediocre basketball fan base. It is what it is, hope this run helps change some of that.

where do u get that from? Every venue in the BIG and NCAA has been a Michigan fan advantage and by BIG margins...To call Michigan a mediocre fan base is just flat out WRONG..Have you even been paying attention??

you're a joke. Did you not pay attention in New York or Los Angeles?

Also:

  1. The majority of undergrads do not go on spring break vacations, so they would have much more flexibility than you think.
  2. Especially as a #1 seed all year that was arguably the biggest favorite throughout the duration of the season to make the Final Four; people build that into expectations.

But I know you guys will pick up the slack for me and the others who cannot go.  Michigan will represent well in the stands, and I think we will represent well on the court as well.  Remember the old adage:

Defense wins championship

I’m on the first flight I can get out of Denver Monday morning. I’d love to have a seat in a friendly section. Please message me if you have anything available and/or need a carpool from IAH Monday morning.

There were an overwhelming amount of Michigan fans there. Kansas, too, but more Michigan fans. Really didn’t see too many Nova fans. Maybe it’s because where I was sitting, (caddy corner to the Loyala bench) but seriously only saw a handful of Nova fans. Going out to bars later cemented that thought. Not many Nova fans. My guess is that the Championship game will be about 70/30 UM fans. I’ve decided I’m going to the game. Go Blue!!!!

1. Our sections were 113-118. What sections were the Nova fans in? Or, if you don’t know the sec number, was the Nova section the same end zone but different corner or was it the complete opposite corner. Any guidance on what to avoid?
2. Was the UM section near one of the team benches or across from a team bench last night?

Can anyone give some more insight on where the Michigan section is? Looking at StubHub, it seems the press box views the court from the same angle as what's broadcast on TV, correct? If the team benches are on the opposite of the court when we watch on TV, and according to someone above the UM section is across from the bench... then the UM section should be on the same side as the press box.

Does that sound right? I don't want to get stuck in a sea of Villanova fans. LOL

Its awesome seeing all of the interest in heading down there.  I can't do it, but really wish I could.  Had I not gotten married and had a kid, I'd be there with money to spare!!

Represent us well, boys and girls!!!

This fan base has the ability to take over that stadium and give our team a huge lift. They fed off the energy in the arena last night. GET HERE and help win a national championship. There will be plenty of tickets from Loyola and Kansas!

Unfortuately can't stay for Monday. I have one ticket in section 115, ~row 20. Willing to let it go to a Michigan fan for way under stubhub. Looking for ~$150, I have a hard ticket and can leave the ticket with a buddy.  rthorwar at gmail.

Sorry, repost here as I replied to the wrong comment (weird forum format):

Last night, the Michigan seating section was around sections 112-115 (and 312-315 or so).  Loyola was on the same side of the court (110-111).  Villanova was directly opposite Michigan in 132-133, and Kansas was opposite Loyola in 134-136.

Although, honestly, Kansas was most of the rest of the seats, too. :)

There aren't likely to be many seats available in the Villanova section anyway.  If you find seats along a sideline, they're probaby in the Loyola or Kansas sections since most Michigan and Villanova fans won't be selling.  If you find tickets in a corner or on a baseline, they were likely corporate seats / random college coach seats / general public.

The guy who sat next to me last night told me that college coaches are prohibited from reselling their allotment above face value, which explained the sea of $330+fees full-tournament strips in the 100 level, along the baslines, on the NCAA Ticket Exchange site.  (I didn't see any listed on StubHub at that price).  If any of those went unsold, they'd presumably be $165+fees for tonight.  The sightlines were decent but you're a long, long way from the action.

Been a reader of the site for years, 1st post. Bought plane tix 4 hours ago, I'm in Seattle trying to patch together a plan. Need 1 game in the good guys section. Closer to the court would be super. Willing to pay, especially to a UM ticket holder. joelozzy at gmail dot com
