I know other Mgousers have said this already - but unless Warinner went for an in home visit, this is going against the good guys. He’s not committing to us without a relationship with the oline coach.

Channelling Magnus - he was supposed to announce - per his own twitter feed - like a week or two ago, but obviously didn't, and unless I missed it don't recall anyone, including Sam Webb, mentioning why the delay.  Was this caused by Warinner finally getting an in home visit?

If I'm thinking of what you're thinking, he didn't say he was going to announce. He said he was going to do an interview, and people interpreted it the wrong way.

Regardless, I don't think this goes Michigan's way. Warinner is a good OL coach, but I think too many things are working against us in this one.

I've been of the mind that Drevno's "unusual" departure time frame was prompted by M either getting the word (or the "gut feeling") this wasn't going our way. No need to keep him around any longer (these things are usually done after NLI day, but obvsly this one is different.)

If I'm wrong I'll be thrilled!

Strictly a geuss, but Drevno's "resignation" might have a negotiated settlement after he learned that Michigan didn't want him back - those negotiations can take some time.  He also, may have been given some time to land another job.  In short, Drevno may have known for some time he wasn't coming back before the announcement.

Sadly, I get the feeling that barring a miracle, Anderson's going to Texas. At this point, I'm just hoping that Warinner can get anything resembling viable OL play from JBB/Spanellis.

Wow...I’ve been accused of many blind-optimism moments in my life. But - I gotta be honest - unless said “corner” you are referring to is a magical land of identity, talent, consistency, and an above average ability to execute “basics,” I am kind of at a loss. If “corner” means our offense is not above 100+ in team stats, then I guess I’m jazzed to round this corner in 2018...

If the decision on Shea hasn't happened by then there is no reason for me to think he will come to Ann arbor. I hope both things fall in our direction by Saturday.

other than the justifiable pessimism here, but...a chance to play for what most people consider to be a potential NC contender only missing a tackle..vs playing in year 2 of the Texas rebuild.

Who cares...am tired of these setups and letdowns... And besides... We got Warinner, and that's all that matters. Finally we won't be scrabmling for these types.... In a few years you'll be relieved and realize how small this all was, incessantly hoping for a OL transfer bandaid.

I think there's a fully competent offensive line already on this team, so while Anderson would be a nice addition Michigan should be okay with the group they have.

I think Drevno leaving really didn't help our cause, and honestly it sounded like it took him by surprise as in when asked about it it he was surprised (when he found out earlier that day). I'm hoping Michigan called him is how he found out, but it's not entirely clear. If I'm wrong about how he found out, I think our chances are negligible. However, while he's been fairly silent lately, he did say this earlier which makes me think there's still a chance:

"I’ll leave it at this, I want Shea Patterson to play"

That's not usually something you say about a team you are deciding between, but rather a team you want to play for. He also hasn't made any statements like that about the other teams on his list. If you read the news it also seems pretty clear that Shea is likely going to be eligible (I say this only because Anderson only knows what he reads and/or what Shea or coaches have told him). I also can't find anywhere that indicates when/if Warinner did an in-home visit. He's got great connections with Anderson's dad, and all the credentials Anderson liked in Drevno, but who knows. UMB1G might have more details, but he's being silent on this one (possibly for a good reason).

Texas as the easy pick: He is from Texas, two of his high school classmates are on the team, and his girlfriend lives in Texas. If' he's really serious about it being a business decision, none of that should matter, and don't forget that its always possible that he feels fine about shunning an offer to Texas that he didn't receive four years ago, as he has maybe better offers. If you look at the end of his twitter video below, it looks like its between Oklahoma and Michigan. If he's like any other recruit he got a lot of pictures from his visits, but the Auburn and the Texas ones look pretty crappy. Oklahoma's is slick, and Michigan's is Blue Rage. It may be reading too much into his anouncement video, but it does look like he's got Texas and Auburn in the background.

I wouldn't underestimate Oklahoma's 1) recent performance and 2) status as a passing team, however the Michigan in me wants to argue that he's looking for offensive performance, and doesn't know if Oklahoma, will have a decent quarterback, but believes Michigan will (Pass-pro is only so dependent on the O-Line, the QB also has to make plays, be aware and agile). Still, I don't think he's following me down that rabbit hole.

Prediction: 60% Oklahoma, 30% Michigan,  10% Texas

A sooner friend is convinced that hes headed to OU. We have been fighting and bickering over him as if our opinions actually matter.
