Article about basketball team walkons
I enjoyed this article about CJ Baird and the rest of the scout team walkons -- it came out before Thursday's game so the author assumes none would see the floor. It's amazing that they didn't even know for sure that they were travelling with the team until just before the tournament much less getting to drain a 3 pointer as the clock ran out.

It's not all bad for them . . . people like us would pay big $$ to get the kind of access to the team and the games that they get every day.
I'd kill to have turkey subs with Beilein.
To them, that's just lunch.
The closest I've ever been to John Beilein is his driveway (and I asusme he was not there anyway), but it was a work-related issue and not a lunch invitation sadly. I feel the same way though - I would pay for the opportunity to have lunch with the man and talk about his career.
Once in a lifetime experience and even greater that they got into the game.
I was watching the class A state finals game today and noticed that Clarkston was up 40 with 6 minutes to play and Fife still had his starters in. Why not give those bench players all 2 or 3 minutes of game time in the state finals? Was he worried that they would blow a 40 point lead?
As a coach, a parent, and a fan I find this disturbing. Put the bench players in. You don't get extra credit for winning by 40.
