Schiano is gone. Just a matter of when.

I think thats the case for all of us

...dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind.

Wishful thinking but not happening
January 21st, 2018 at 7:23 PM ^
I'm guilty for wishing Schiano didn't change his mind, and that he coached and not RR and Hoke.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
Or maybe Les Miles?
January 21st, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
You wish that a guy connected with Sandusky coached here?
I'm thankful we dodged that bullet.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Hoke coached the best season at UM since 1997.
January 21st, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
Are you nuts? 2006 and 2016 would love a word.
January 22nd, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
Hoke first year was our best in a long time.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:25 PM ^
And they will gat 3 more 5 star commits just to remind us they can.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:28 PM ^
How about Urban Meyer going to the NFL??? Isn't he fucking tired of OSU by now?
January 21st, 2018 at 7:44 PM ^
His offense would struggle in the NFL. It’s based on creating space and matchups where his 5 stars are more skilled than the 3 and 4 stars he goes up against. In the NFL everyone is fast. Plus he would get his QBs killed running them so much. When you have talent everywhere with 4 and 5 stars it works, but with the salary cap he would have 3-5 win teams each year.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:58 PM ^
Maybe Meyer can't adjust his offense to win in the NFL, but he's not successful just because he has a massive talent advantage at OSU.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:01 PM ^
Yep. I hate from from his hair to his heels, but gotta admit that the man can coach.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
He doesn't have a salary cap where he is at now. . .
January 21st, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
Why would he commit career suicide by leaving where he is ultra successful to go coach in a league where his scheme flat out won’t work?
January 21st, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
He has nothing left to prove at the college level. Because he has a massive ego (they all do) and needs to prove he can coach anywhere and kick ass. Think Chip Kelly (no NFL offense there) and Nick Saban. They had to try the pro game because their ego demanded it.
Now...I admit to wishful thinking. I don't actually think he will go to the league but it wouldn't surprise me.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:02 PM ^
as much in the NFL as he does at OSU. Also, can't control a city police department to let players off for crimes the way he can at smaller college towns.
Not a good fit.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:38 PM ^
He’d be a great fit at the Cowboys. He and Jerry Jones would be total butt buddies.
January 21st, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
Any proof of him paying players or are we just spouting bullshit?
January 21st, 2018 at 8:45 PM ^
The latter.
January 21st, 2018 at 11:28 PM ^
Yeah but really it's both.
January 22nd, 2018 at 8:09 AM ^
pay players, boosters do. Coaches just look the other way. Players get shit every where, even Michigan, it's just worse and more blatant at some places.
January 22nd, 2018 at 9:48 AM ^
Remember OSU's basketball coach Jim O'Brien who that kept thousands in cash in his desk? Others personally hook up the players or recruits with the boosters. More let an assistant do the dirty work, but it's under their direction, like Pitino at Louisville.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:37 PM ^
I’d be shocked if he ever went to the NFL.
While Meyer is a great coach, his schemes are designed to get his uber-athletes out in space and just overwhelm the opposition. In the NFL everyone is fast. Everyone is strong, athletic, physical, and everything in between. The talent advantage he enjoys at OSU would be long gone in the league.
Besides, why leave a great thing you’ve got going? You’re a god to your fanbase, you have your pick of the litter on talent, no cap space on signing that talent, and going to the NFL, an place you have no experience in, could destroy your reputation and career of it doesn’t go well.
January 22nd, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
or reputation. He'd go back to college and there would be a major bidding war for his services.
January 22nd, 2018 at 11:48 AM ^
Just look at Chip Kelly. Fired after 2-14 with the 49ers and had his pick in college. Plus Meyer has three NCs and Chip has zero. Unless there is a Sandusky level scandal lurking there is no way that Meyer's career will be destroyed.
January 22nd, 2018 at 12:23 PM ^
I want Urban and Dantonio to stay long enough for Harbaugh to have a winning record against those guys. I want Saban to stay long enough for us to beat him a few times. We can beat the best, just like we did under all coaches prior to RichRd.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:33 PM ^
I'm gonna whine a little here. They may lose possibly two coordinators and everything's cool. We have a position coach who is offered a position at another school but never accepts it and decides to stay on board, and we lose one of our highest rated recruits who's favored us for months. Awesome.
January 21st, 2018 at 7:37 PM ^
We’ve made our fair share of mistakes over the last decade or so, admittedly. But we just seem snakebit when it comes to our rivals catching breaks.

January 21st, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
That is a lot of college guys for a new pro-staff, between Day and possibly Warrier. A little unsual, especially give the stark contrasts between pro and college offenses.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:34 PM ^
Isn't he mostly an NFL guy?
January 21st, 2018 at 9:48 PM ^
that Vrabel wants to hire guys who will run some college type of offensive stuff for Mariota.
January 22nd, 2018 at 1:26 AM ^
All I saw was “ college “ offensive. There isn’t that much difference....
January 21st, 2018 at 8:55 PM ^
Eh, Meyer will lose coordinators, pick up new ones and go 11-1. And beat us again. Sad as it is, I just chalk up the OSU game as a loss now. It doesn't even hurt to do so. Isn't that sad? I'm getting to that point with MSU. Even Wisconsin.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:01 PM ^
Glad you’re getting like that with Wisconsin. It’s not like we just beat them a year ago or anything lol. Would’ve beat them by 3 TD’s if Kenny Allen could’ve kicked a field goal at that point in the season.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
Until Pep is out and Drevno is no longer OC, I have us at 6-6 next year. I have no confidence that we can win any away games vs. top-25 teams, and very little confidence we can beat PSU and Wisconsin.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:46 PM ^
I don't know--Harbaugh's seeming inability to establish who we are on offense last year was unnerving. I think we all expected coaching changes in the offseason, but without a complete picture it's difficult to see what's changed on the offensive side. The recruiting class is not quite at the level it has been the last two years. But hey, spring ball is just around the corner, and the talent is young, but it's there, and hey! Shea Patterson. It'll change in time surely, but I'm feeling a bit of post-season malaise right now.
January 21st, 2018 at 9:54 PM ^
Granted i feel the pain, but there is only so much you can do when you have three QBs that didn't pan out due to piss poor protection.
Harbaugh knows what he wants to do, but if you dont have the players to do it you simply cant do it.
January 21st, 2018 at 10:03 PM ^
I blame Occam's Razor, ak47, Maizen, and Stringer Bell. The Doom and Gloom Crew! They really harsh my mellow.
January 22nd, 2018 at 11:33 AM ^
Lol pretty sure we beat both msu and wisconsin last year
January 21st, 2018 at 9:20 PM ^
He’ll wait till after signing day...just like the last one
January 21st, 2018 at 9:29 PM ^
Meyer could lose all of his position coaches, coordinators, and over half his starters and still win at least 10 regular season games and contend for the playoffs well into November. Meyer is the engine that makes that entire program go.
Going to be a brutal slog for us to have a chance to beat them every year he’s there.
