Can I join you guys? [Paul Sherman]

Another year, another promising young linebacker plucked from a conference rival.

We got Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian, [via Twitter]

Second time's the charm. Michigan was close to landing one of their top choices this cycle at DT before USC swooped in. One season of defensive play later, they managed to divert one of their favorite Pennsylvanians on his way to L.A. Deyvid Palepale announced this evening he's flipping from a new Big Ten team to the reigning champs.

A native Alaska, Palepale (pah-lay-Pah-lay) projects as the nose tackle of this class. He also plays basketball and track (discus and shotput). He's cousins with Lions lineman Penei Sewell.

We'll get a full writeup this week I imagine. He's the fourth DT in a class that includes Manuel Beigel, Owen Wafle, and Ted Hammond, but Palepale is the most projectable to nose tackle after Michigan failed to land a pure nose in the 2023 cycle. He's a 3-star but I wouldn't read too much into the rankings given the bloodlines and which schools were battling for him.

Michigan couldn't get Ohio State Will Johnson (Aaron Scott) to follow his head to Ann Arbor, but they can still yoink dudes that Ryan Walters wanted badly. Tonight the Wolverines followed up an important in-state DL commitment for 2025 by snake oiling recent Purdue decommit Jo'Ziah Edmond from Purdue.

Edmond is an Indiana three-star ranked in the 300s from a city with a great name. He played all three ways at Indianapolis Warren Central the last three years but is transferring up to Nappanee to play for Northwood his senior year. He also looks to be about my age, if not Brian's.

He'll fit right in with Jaden Smith and Jacob Oden for the oldest-looking class Michigan's signed in a minute. The sites thought of Edmond as a WR but Michigan's bringing him in as a long-and-tall cornerback. Allen Trieu says they've talked about moving him up to a four-star, though he's not going to come in as the same kind of prospect as Scott. Given the vast differential lately in cornerback development between Scott's chosen school and Edmond's, it's no given things will stay that way. Michigan also got a recent flood of crystal balls for KY 3* Jeremiah Lowe in the wake of Scott's commitment to OSU, so the CB class might come together before we get to a Hello for Edmond, which should be sometime this week I imagine.

Three! Three J. Smiths in the class, ah ah ah!

Let him have your quarterback's leg so you can keep yours.

Thank you Don Brown.

The War marches on.

Oden's listed as a safety or athlete to the sites, but Michigan might like him as a cornerback.

Michigan hasn't won a battle for a Bomber since the two in Jim Harbaugh's class. Can you name them?

Gallon up!

For when Will Johnson is in the NFL.

Trieu even praises his pad level!

But can he play basketball for Missouri State?
